For those all about lightweight, these also weight less than a normal set of clod gears that have bee JB'd ;)

Do you fellas know if the fellas at RCGUY are planning on producing the rest of the 2 counter gears the go in the clod gear case beside the diff locker?

I just ran my clod this past weekend for the first time with the Trackgear diff locker and it basically stripped my other 2 gears in side my diff so im very interested in getting the rest of the gears made of alloy..

well it stripped only one counter gear :oops: :mrgreen:

looks like it broke off two of the teeth then just stripped the rest

needless to say everytime I hed out to one of our crawl sessions I manage to completly demobolize my rig :evil: so im switchin to some new tires :mrgreen:

I wonder if one of your bushings/bearings were wore alowing the gears to move a little and then strip. I have put tons of hard hours on clods, both with the stock gears, and with the aluminum lockers and have never stripped any of the gears.

Well, judging by that pic, and the lack of a bearing inside the end of the munched gear...

I think it's safe to say that while installing the RC Guy gear you accidentally lost a bearing, didn't notice it, and figured the only change made was installing the locker.

Every time I've pulled Clod axles apart, that bearing stays inside the end of the gear...it doesn't stick to the gearcase housing.

If you took the gear off the shaft it rides on, that's when you lost the bearing.

Get a new gear, put a bearing in it, and it'll last a good, long time.

Well it did have a bearing in it just popped out when I took apart the gear case...I think it was me runing those big ****ing kongs all the time and I guess it would help to change those year old bearings out...

on order:

Moabs and some 23mm pro-line wheels
bearings
new set of gears
and some custom adapters

KONGS!?!

That kinda changes things, doesn't it? :lol:

Kongs are too much for Clod axles to begin with.

Well I have a new gear in and and a whole new set of bearings for the whole truck from RC4WD for only 10.00 I dont see how you can go wrong at that price...

a week later they came out with those ceramic bearings I knew i should have waited:x

Im running moabs now so I dont think I should be having any more problems with stuff breaking.. :mrgreen:

They are available at www.rc4wd.com or from www.rcguy.com when we can get them. Our supply of them is not as steady as we would like it. We have a few sets due in this week. Email Michael at sales@rcguy.com to reserve a set. They should be ready to ship by the end of the week (Oct 15). We have to check them over for burrs, etc before we will ship them out.
