I'm about to order a WK RTR with the 15t spur and 96t spur gear as that's all I can afford right now. I'll extend the wheelbase as the extra money comes along. But for right now I hope that setup will outcrawl my Nylint junk.

For about $20 more throw in a 45-65 turn lathe motor and you won't regret it. I'm running that gearing with a 55t Integy and I'm really happy with it."thumbsup"

And when you can afford it, buy some new batteries, the stock one is utter trash. Some good 3000mah packs will be great.

I have quite a few battery packs (used to be into airsoft, but driving hours to play wasn't fun). But will a 9.6 or 8.4 work without burning anything up?

only if you get a 55T+ motor. I would constantly overheat my stock ESC with a 7 cell battery and the stock motor. Once I got a 55T integy motor, all that went away (still using the stock esc).

I did something like this. I too am limited on my budget, so I tried to get the most bang for my buck with each successive mod...

1.Go for the extended wheelbase first (after your gearing)
2. either flip the chassis or move the battery to the front (mostly free mod - just some creativity)
3. 55T motor
4. batteries (I have some older 1900mAh 7 cells that ~45min with a 55T motor - you don't need super duper nifty batteries, just an upgrade from stock would do fine)
5. high torque servo (Tower Pro MG945 is $20 and is awesome)
6. tires
etc...

2- ext. WB
3- Batt in front
4- Hi-torque servo axle mounted
5- Tires
6- Motor, really the stock motor once proper gears installed is not bad, not phenomenal right, but on a budget wait until it burn...

It might be a possibility that I'm going to go ahead and get the Stage 1 from CkRC I think it'd be worth it in the long run instead of getting the upgrade later. I am for sure getting this because I want something different. This is just gonna be a basher/crawler. Question... are there any production servo mount plates or will I have to come up with my own? And it is a possibility that I might wait til after x-mas to see if the relatives give me any cash so I can might go to stage 2.

Another question (don't want to start a bunch of threads when I can just ask in one)... 2.2 wheels fit right onto the hexes without having to change size, correct?

Mine is a basher /crawler (hence stock 27T motor...)
Check RCGuy.com for an affordable WK axle servo mount, you will need a little trimming of the servo + servo mount on the right hand upper corner (when sit in the vehicule) so the right wheel can get max turning radius to the left (you will end up with only 3 screw, but stiff enough).

2.2 size wheels will fit the stock WK hexes if they are 12mm size.

Are bearings included?
Is this kit difficult to build because on CKRC Crawlers it says there's no instructions, is that true?

Edit: I'm going to wait til after I get all my christmas cash to order something. I might end up getting an Axial though simply because it's everything all in one package. Either that or Stage 2 Wk

are the bearing included with what? the truck, yes.

mine climbs pretty good stock and with 2wd but flips going uphill.

I HAD to do the motor, my ESC kept overheating because I had a 7 cell battery (too much amperage). The 55T motor solved that problem right away, and for $20, it's the same price if not cheaper than most of the other mods...

oh, I guess I left out gears, locking diffs, etc... I thought those were assumed!"thumbsup"
