| South Mountain G2G 10/1
I'm going to head out to the south mountain park between 6:30 and 7am on Saturday. Would like to get some others to join me! Who's up for it? I should have some new goodies on my wraith by then Me and theBlackmonky will be there for sure. Here is the nearest address, just follow the road to the parking lot at the end. I've got a silver Jeep Commander. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=4554+e...src=0&t=h&z=17 Last edited by strap624; 09-26-2011 at 05:17 PM. |

It is a fun spot but your right it does get busy. The hill to the left has a pretty steep hill climb trail. I had to carry the truck up in a couple spots because there was no way it was driving up. I'll be there as early as my body will let me. I've got two battery packs so I can go for hours I went to hobby action after our outing at papago and got a new steering servo. I ordered some new goodies, Motorworx 8 hole slant face aluminum wheels, Pit bull rock beast tires, vanquish steering link, and a smaller pinion for some good crawling control. |

I'll have to check and see if Mrs. Big Daddy has any plans I don't know about. I'll have to finish the reorganization of my electronics too. So put me down for a maybe right now..

Today is a sad day. My tires that I ordered Monday didn't show. In fact, tracking doesn't even say they've been shipped yet. Damn.

Yep! got the stock tires on the new wheels. I'm throwing in a smaller pinion and putting some extra touches on the rig right this moment.

The rims added I guesstimate 1.25lbs to the rig. Plus the big battery is up front. I got a 16t and 18t pinion, unfortunately the 16t wouldn't work. I couldn't get the spur and pinion to mesh tight enough. The motor ran out of room to adjust. I was worried the spur would strip. So I put the 18t in. The gearing is better, but not enough. I need a bigger spur now and then I could use the 16t pinion.
