About 2 hrs from Ahwatukee.
Go north through Payson to the East Verde turn off.

I got a hotel room in Payson. I have to go up there Saturday to get paperwork signed for a van sale I figured I might as well stay overnight.

Also what time does it start?

Payson is an amazing comp spot in the pines next to an active river. The 1st comp of the fall season as well as the last comp of the spring season will likely be there because of the cooler weather. It is roughly ten degrees cooler which makes comping during the heat of the day bareable .

If you've never been up there, it is definitely worth the drive
