Default SARCCA 2012 Camp and Crawl Aug 10-12th

Well its that time of year, too damn hot everywhere, time to head up the mountain to Sykes Knob. Camping will start friday, the 10th, in the afternoon, till sunday when we leave.

I will be setting up a G6 style course, 300 or so gates, with a night stage

There is also a great comp area just up the road to get in some practice before the fall season.

If everyone is in agreement, we can do a pot lock style dinner saturday night. So post up if you are going to attend, and if you want to have the pot luck.

There is no cost, everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there.

Personally I vote against the Pot Luck, it worked out last time but just barely.

Otherwise, I should be there.

Here is the map to the campsite. The endpoint on the map show the entrance to the site. I will be heading up Friday afternoon and will put up SARCCA signs to help guide the way in.
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=I-...1,0&sz=16&z=16

As far as getting a camper into the site, I don't think it would be doable. The first part of the road is narrow with low hanging trees, and the road tilts you slightly to the tree on the left side. Any high profile vehicle would have an issue there. Otherwise like Erin said, campsite at the top of hill is close enough that it would work for you.

I'm new to the crawling scene, so i might try to make it to check out comps and stuff. Is there a website for the camping area or is it just forest?
The wife doesen't like to " rough it" if you get my drift.
Thanks
Chris

its just forest. There are bathrooms up the road a few miles, but its basically primitive. This area is set back from the main camp sites though, so its a bit more private.

Get a bucket and some kitty litter and she will be good to go!

You can always just spend the day with the family, and stay for the night portion of the scale comp.

Is there space where you go for my travel trailer(23')? It's got pretty good clearance to get off the road. If I go and the family doesn't, I'll have some extra sleeping space.

The road into the camp site is short and narrow, with one fairly rough spot, but Honda civics make it......

If not, there is camping just as you turn onto this road as well, thats maybe 200 yards away.

This area is pretty good size, but that beast might take a bit to much room up. Let me run it by Tim and see what he thinks

It's not that big really.

With the beds out it gets a bit longer though.

Having a 7 month old it might be better to stay a few hundred yards away from the party though... but I don't want to miss the party either..

I guess I should see if the rest of the family wants to go before I go make too many plans.

After talking with Tim, I think its to high profile for some trees againt the road half way in. Like I said though, its 2mins up the road and its alot flatter there as well. We wont let you miss anything, dont worry
