Default SCALE Comp Oct 20th Location Change?

Many of you "Scale Comp Guys" mentioned that you wouldn't be able to make the comp in Payson on the 20th so I'm wanting to know if a change of location will work for everyone? If so where?

Start time will stay the same, show up by 7, start comp by 8, 3 ten gate courses, 8 minute time limit.
We will widen up the gates to 18" from the 14" we ran last time. Once there are more attendees we will separate the classes into 1.9 and 2.2.

We need volunteers to help judge and set up courses. If you'd like to help with course set up I'd like to start by 6:30.

Please give me your thoughts and let me know if you'll be able to attend.

"This is for the Scale comp "NOT" the regular PARC comp"

Mini Moab would work for me. We haven't been there since last spring. I can be there at 7 to help setup. I like the idea of the wider gates. Some of those gates last time were just brutal.

I'd be down for mini. I don't think katie is wanting to go all the way to payson anyway cuz she don't get up that early and the gas.

I have a solution for you on the gate width situation. Make all gate 18" and then make a mark 14" from either gate marker. 2.2 trucks get the entire 18" and 1.9 rigs get the 14" between one gate marker and the chalk line.

It's basically on the way to canyon lake heading up sr88 east of apache junction.

For more info/detail there is a link to the map in the sticky just above this thread on the list. You can also get directions from it too

We meet at the parking lot there. Then all drive across the street when we all finally show up.

That's a good idea Nick, the only potential issue I see is if your line is going between say a V rock or over loose rock/dirt. There is no way that chalk line would stay there. What about the sprinkler markers like Erin uses for the G6's.

Hi, i'm new to this game (3 days) and i live in payson and was stoked to see a comp in payson on oct 20. was looking forward to enter even though i don't know the dealio yet.
i have entry level rig, exceed 1/10 max stone.
a little local info, it's kinda cool here @ 8am, maybe a later start time?
whoever is the event co-ordinator could get in touch w/me, 928-978-2365,
i know of many places in and around the area that we could use.
if ya'll don't want to come to payson (it's shorter than queen creek to suprise and nicer drive) there are several forest service roads that branch off of the beeline that would have potential. i get out on dual sport m/c & mtn bike.
do you know of any othere rc crawlers in payson ?.........advise

Nope, all me.
We are loosely using SORRCA rules for now but running Wraith axles rigs with SCX axles rigs was rough at 14" especially on a tight course.

Mini is good if that will help attendance. Gonna have a hard time finding lines that Roy hasn't ran already. Lol.
Let's get some more people judging so Brian gets a chance to run also.
