| Oak Flats Update
So here is my proposal. Since there was a good amount of interest in going there but It was a last minute pop up thing, why don't we plan for something. Camping included. I would love to have a mini g6 outing with a night crawl. Let me know what you guys think and maybe some days that could work with everyone's schedule. Again just a thought For those of us who have to stay local, How does the 8th and 9th of Feb work. Fishy feel free to Jump in on this. I don't know the campground or how many people it can handle. My suggestion would be to come up with a few dates that you would like to do it and go from there. But since you ask... Feb 2 and 23 are comp days so if you want to comp those are not real likely. Feb 8 is KOH Ultra4 G6, some people want to make that trip. But that is a doable weekend for those of us who may stay local. Feb 15-16 might work for some but if your wife is like mine and thinks Valentines day is more of a weekend holiday then you might need to get used to sleeping in a tent... just sayin. March 16 is the only comp in that month so that has some options. The following weekend is my anniversary, so I'm out then. April only has one comp on the schedule too. But April 25-27 is SWSC, which at this point I am planning to attend. May is too far out for me to think about, and after May we'll need higher elevation. So there's my $.02 |

Well crap Kevin, when you put it like that geez.. Wanted some input and you basically threw out a bunch of good days. Feb 8th might work, How many people from our area are reallying planning on attending. I would love to go to SWSC but that probably won't happen.(when are you guys leaving)

Just making a point as to why it's better to name a few dates that work for you and go from there. Trying to please everyone is a PITA, but if you have a date the people that want to come, will. I've thrown out a few scale runs that I was the only who went, but thats fine, I still had a good time. As much as I'd like to go to KOH I probably won't. Ben posted something about going, Erin will probably go, not sure who else local. Not sure our travel plans yet for SWSC. One of the reasons I can get away with that trip is my sister-in-law lives about 10 minutes from the site and that means the Mrs gets to spend the weekend with her sister. |

I plan on heading up around late morning on that sat. get camp set up and do some crawling and exploring. we should do a night run sat and then who ever wants to join us on Sunday can. no real set plans, but fishy mentioned trying to scout a local g6 set up. like I said before, nothing is set in stone and any and all ideas are welcome.

As cool as the axial-fest sounds, I have no time or frog-skins to drive out to Cali for that weekend... Maybe next year. So I'm going to oak flats! I'll be heading up Saturday am to set up camp and start scouting. the campground is easily accessible, and has literally endless rock right there. If We can come up with good markers, we could lay out an informal line of sorts. Anybody coming up have any gate markers, or do I need to go over to the Ahwatukee country club and start stealing tennis balls?
