Exclamation Up for a morn. crawl in AZ 4/30 (SAT)?

Kev, Mitch (from the LHS) and myself are going to get together for a crawl on Saturday morning. Not sure where, maybe S. Mountain again, who knows. Anyone interested? It'll probably start around 9:00AM or so. Mainly just to have some fun and get some video for the D&D event on Sunday.

Post here if you're interested.

Doesn't matter to me where, the closer the better though.

Hey guys I am definitely going to go out Saturday morning. Wherever you want to go is fine with me. I have never been to Papago Park. But then again I have only been to like 2 spots ever. I was really hoping my first post would be more dramatic than this.

Yep, that's cool with me. I am in bad need of some crawling experience no matter what the location.

Default crawl:)

I will be in Phoenix on Saturday. Where is this park? What are the directions from Flagstaff? What time will you guys be there? I would like to try both of my sticks on that terrain to see which s/u does best to overcome driver inefficiencies

I may be able to make it a bit later. I have an appt at 9am, should only take 30m or so.

Let me know what part of the park you go to and I will catch up.

we will be at hole in the rock, you can see it on the middle/right side of the map:

http://www.arizonensis.org/sonoran/places/papago.html

when you enter the park, you can see the hole in the rock butte. as the name implies, it's the big red butte with a hole in the top. you can't miss it. if you show up late, we can be anywhere around the base of this butte.

the phoenix zoo is also in the same park:
The entrance to the Zoo is off Galvin Parkway in the heart of Papago Park, between McDowell and Van Buren.

use this address to mapquest it:
The Phoenix Zoo, 455 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona 85008
and then the map above to find hole in the rock.

alex, come down 17 all the way into central phoenix, take 10 towards tucson (south), which is really taking you east. then take the 202 to priest drive north. priest turns into galvin, and follow the signs for papago park/phoenix zoo. turn right into the zoo/park.

That is just great, lol.

I really wish I could make it out to this but my dad is having a yard sale and I was suckered into helping out. Maybe Ill help him set everything thing up and run away really fast. I have been dying to do some crawling at the hole so Ill do everything I can to make it out. Anyone going to take some pics so that if i dont make it out there I can still see everyone else having fun?

Had a great time crawling yesterday. Papago is an old crawling spot for me, but there were allot of obstacles I had never “seen’ before that you guys found. Very cool.

This was a tough obstacle to get up. It required a spotter to catch your truck because 99% of the time you where going of the edge.
