| I thought I'd start a thread over on our club section to discuss the different classes for next year. After talking to Chris and Mike and reading what some of the other clubs are doing, I came up with some Ideas I want to share. Sportsman class, Shafty only, no dig class. I think it would be fun for everyone Vets and newbs and a class that you wouldn't have to spend a bunch of money on to have fun. I don't like the idea of limits on how much you can spend on your rig. Having a class within a class would fix that I feel. Pro class, all out competition. The thing I'm having a problem with is for new guys in either class, to have to be scored with the vets . I went into this sport to compete. I got the rules out and buildt my rig to the rules, I saw dig and didn't even know what it was. After I found out I buildt me a dig. I've never had a 2.2 rig that didn't have dig. My goal in the hobbie was to run with the Pros. Now thats me. Some will come in like that and others won't. This is my Idea, We have a novice class within both the Pro class and the Sportsman class. Novice would run the same courses in both classes, we would give them a higher pointout and time than the vets/pro drivers. The novice would have the 20 point by pass rule and the Pros wouldn't. We score them separate. This way if a guy wants to work up to all out comp rig he can still do so. They'll get to run with the Vets/Pro drivers and learn a lot about driving and set up. They'll get to try hard courses and by pass the gates they can't do. They'll be able to see how they compare to the Pros by their scores, but be scored with guys at their same level. I do feel we should come up with a bump up system for the novice drivers. It don't have to be after 3 wins, it could be at the end of our year long series. Or we could let them decide when they want to move up, when they feel ready or make them when it shows that they are ready.. Lets discuss this and get it worked out for next season. |

| I like these classes. I think it will be nice for the guys that are not ready for all out comping to have options for fun. I love the idea of a sportsman class, it will be a blast. When we run 1.9s will everyone do that or will we have 2 classes for them as well? |

| No for two classes in 1.9. No dig rule already it's easier to mod the mini losi. |

| Quote: Classes work for me. You could probably setup the score sheets to have some different checkboxes and quick rule lists for each class. Not more than 10 words to describe each class you are going to run in. Or make a small table on the score sheet showing the quick differences for each class. Again, nothing fancy just quick explanations of each class. Might keep the confusion down on the score keepers and new guys. Just my .02. | |

| Scoring would be the same, Novice just gets more time and more points to point out with. simple really. And the final scores would be listed separate from the pro. |

| Quote: Novice bump ups should be mandatory. 3 wins sounds fair, it'll give others a chance to bump up as well throughout the year. No restrictions on battery size. No restrictions on tire size/construction. I don't know why everyone is so concerned about not being "competitive" if there is a spending limit. Its still a competition. A foot race is still a foot race. Limiting the shoes you wear to those cheap velcro strap things you get at Walmart won't take away the competitiveness.
