Default superlift orv park

hey guys, my name is Jared Freeman i am the assistant manager at the superlift orv park in hot springs and im here to get some of you guys opinions on us setting up Arkansas's premier comp/scaler area! we have been discussing this for a while and we are interested in figuring out from the people that know what it would take. all of us here at the park would be very grateful for any help to get us started! so if you guys don't mind can we do some brainstorming to see what you guys this would be cool for us to have. we really want to give all of you guys an awesome spot to enjoy your awesome sport!!

thanks
-Jared

thanks, yea i know some of you guys that have been "hinting" at this for awhile and i think we finally got our heads out and realized the awesome potential in this sport I'm sure we will be calling out everyone we can muster to get this completed.
ok now down to business lol. what would you like to see in a comp course and a scaler "trail"? im thinking do both adjacent to the parking lot under the trees behind the cabin (*this could change depending on what the higher ups think) and building a table or bench of sorts with power for working on the rigs and just general staging. but as far as obstacles go just a big pile of rocks for the comps? what is the g.o.p on this kind of thing? how well does the plaster over wire fence hold up to being out in the elements and if the materials aren't overly expensive i would think this would be the way to go. what do you guys think?

discuss!

Yah, let this guy setup the scaler type courses. He is the master of getting the RC truck courses to match the 1:10 size of the R/C rigs.

x2. I am about 2 hrs and 15 mins from the ORV. I can help out with the die hard competition truck courses. But I figure most of the setups will be for the scaler type trucks.
We have had a scaler competition and a competition crawler event out there before. The competition trucks were setup on the highline/pipeline area. Josh will remember where it was. The scaler comp was right there close to the parking lot.

Awesome! I can help come up with scaler trail obstacles that would be fun. Pretty much the rule is, if it would make a good trail for real vehicles you have come through your park, it would be good for the scale RCers too. A wood bridge over a very small stream of water, hill climbs, and canyon like areas all would be good. Just remember though that the approach and departure angles on scale rigs aren't as good as the comp rigs, so tall, sheer drop offs on rocks aren't a good idea generally.

dang guys missed a few days checking this thread and it blew up lol.
anyway we will most likely be doing both courses close to the office/PL so we can hold competitions and it will be easy for spectators and the like. but it would be awesome to get some help setting a place and moving some rocks!

went out to the orv today..took pics..
and did a rough 1st draft layout of comp/scaler area..

comp course in the middle/scaler trails will surround and intertwine
with comp course.
comp course will be BIG rocks stacked/placed @4-5ft high..
biggest pile in middle, with it tapering off to the other segments
of the comp rocks..scaler trails will wrap around and if the scalers wanna
have a go on the big top..get'r done!

total proposed area is a rough @60ftx60ft +/-

after all is to our liking, ill go back and start the scale details.

its going to be awesome!!

can you guys say..
"shaded crawl area/power/bathrooms/work tables/drinks"
within 100 ft of course..

guys we have a GOLDEN opp. here to make us a home.
i suggest we ALL jump in and lend a hand.
the air is fixn to get a bit cooler...so
get ready.
as soon as we get a green light..
its on!

like D/K!!!

And for the scaler trails, remember this as well, we want things that we can't just go out into any old place in the woods and easily find. We want it to be like a big boy trail, something special.
