What's the deal with those skidplates? What is the slot cut down the center supposed to be for?

Otherwise, looks good!

It gives it a little more clearance. I took a sander to mine and made it rounded(convex), so there are no edges to catch on rocks.

That's a good Q, I have a few new body's to choose from but it's kinda cold out to be painting them. Just might have to talk to Mike and see if he can fire up the heat in the shop so I can paint it inside. I'd like to run a new Grappler body but HT hasn't got one in yet......looks like it's gonna get the HPI Bug then.

I would like to make it to the WARCRC event on the 2nd but I need to focus more on making it to our own events so I can try and move up in the point bracket.

The slot in the skid is designed so that if you go up onto a rock and you slide, the slot will catch you and keep the rig from sliding off the object. I really like the idea and it has saved me from some rollovers.

Yea the skid is notched for clearence and to help keep ya from sliding off the rock sideways....kinda like a guide rail. I think it's also to save little weight. The way the skid is mounted onto the chassis you really can't get the trany any lower than it is or else you would be hitting the motor on the chassis where it hangs out the side even with a regular motor.

Thanks Mike for helping a brotha out.
