One,your making the pinion weaker cause your drilling a hole. IMHO,a 5mm shaft can't loose any material and still have a tiny bit of strength left.

Two,the maxx yokes are 6mm and the Ax-10 inputs/outputs are 5mm. You'll have enough slop there to cause failure. Don't say they'll never break.....cause they will

Three, the little bit of slop you have will cause the traxass pins to work loose on the yokes.

I haven't. It's basically a spacer to keep the ears from deflecting. I'd say it'd work nicely.

Default drive shaft

the traxxis drive shaft upgrade from ckrc are very sloppy, and once together very little of the splines are actually engaged id say about 5/8 of an inch or so.the axial ones are very tight and smooth.i like them better but the yolk pins pop out right.well take the traxxis yolks and install them on the axial drive shafts .the pins are long enough to stop them from popping and they are still very smooth and tight the way they should be..just my .02

Stock drive shaft ordered along with the "rings" they sale for them. I'll let you know how it works out.

I have ran this setup on TLT axles and now Axial axles and never have had a problem running lipo's RC4WD trans and bind the heck out of it and never broke one in a year of running but some things work for some people and not for others

I take it you don't know how to make longer shafts to get more spline contact? It's a pretty common thing that needs to be done with crawlers. Come to think of it,I don't think I've ever run a stock length driveshaft.

Unless you have 5mm Maxx yokes, available from Traxxas ;)
