Default Official BlueTorch "Edge" coming soon!!!

Some of you may know or have heard of Dan the founder and man behind Blue Torch Fabworks. If not you can check out his stuff here http://www.bluetorchfab.com/store/

I have known Dan for several years and he is coming back to the Birmingham, Alabama area soon. SO we decieded that he will need something to crawl with other than his trick 1:1 rigs. We will have a comp area at his new shop in the future.

Look what came in the mail today! Huge thanks to Kevin at The Crawler Store!!! I orderd this stuff Sunday morning and it just arrived. I figured if I was going to build Dan a Edge then I would need one too.

Time to start building...

Here is what I'm using so far:

AX-10 Scorpion
TCS "Edge" Tuber
Losi Rockclaws
Mamba Max ESC
Hitec 5955 servo for steering
R2D trans with TCS servo plate
Integy V10 55T motor
RC4WD aluminum knuckles, C-hubs, rear axle and lock-out
TCS aluminum upper link mount/servo mount
TCS Boomerang for the rear
Axial aluminum shock bodies and drive shaft rings

Still undecieded on battery (some type of MaxAmps 3-cell lipo) and radio, I also may have forgot about something else too?

Tell Dan...don't come out west to RC Crawl...there's a little girl out here that makes guys like us look bad! :p

I'm stoked Dan'll have an RC...hopefully I can make it back to Birmingham and bring my Scorpion to play!

And FYI, BlueTorch is where we had our 1:1 Red Bull RockHer II built. They build some of the wildest rigs and parts in the country.

He'd take that as a challenge! LOL You have a build thread on that truck in your avatar? It looks bad@ss!!!!!

Yeah Dan builds some wicked stuff. Funny that I'm actually building him a rig??? I know he stays to busy to actually build it.

Maybe he will build you a Fusion in exchange... seems fair, right?

I've been looking at his axle trusses for my Jeep/Ranger project. Love his stuff.

The truck in my Avitar is actually a video game called 1NSANE. An amazing programmer known as Fat Alphie modelled the online version after the real version, including panels that tear off when you scrape against a wall. When the panel falls off, it reveals a VERY accurate full chassis underneath. Truly, one of the most accurate video game versions ever done of a real car...even down to the suspension geometry and performance as they can actually model roll center, CG, angle of incidence...the works. It was a full 3 months worth of programming. So detailed, you can even do front digs with it.

Here's a video on YouTube to give you an idea...

There was this thread Project: Fusion-X

It wasn't Dan's build but it was a copy of a Fusion chassis. A very good one too. But yes he has been a member on here for several years.

Got a little more work done. Axles completely ready. And the R2D trans fits perfectly in the stock skid. I assembled the shock using the internal spring that came with the Edge hardware kit. I use the stock rubber shock spacer on top of the piston (under the cap) to set the ride height. If I don't go out of town tomorrow it will be finished this weekend.
