I was pretty much just asking to see what people had into their homegrown dig setups and to see if a driveshaft disco like you guys are building is better than a trany disco.

As far as if they are better than a tranny dig... Austin Dunn still uses one and he's the biggest dog in the yard. (Gatekeeper) I liked mine better than the dig I have now (CKRC) and I felt it was more reliable

more reliable because you were just moving a sleave on the driveshaft instead of sun gears etc inside a tranny?

A home made dig does the same thing, it just isn't attached to the tranny. Instead of pulling the driveshaft off the tranny out-drive, you are sliding a sleeve off the splines of the front half of a driveshaft to allow it to seperate from the rear. More reliable because my tranny dig has brass bushings that wear out and it whittles down on my out-drive. The sliding dig is simple and nothing wears out.

Has anyone dne this with the EDGE chassis? It looks like there would be interfierence with the rear of the chassis.

Looks heavy and bulky and that it could snag very easily.

Here's my homemade dig, but I did a transmission dig rather than a driveshaft dig: My new build - Karnage Bodiless Comp Crawler |
