Excellent that more manufacturers are coming out with parts, yes. As far as them all being the same parts? I agree, until someone figures out the next best part, all of the companies are going to keep making the same stuff or very similar stuff. What would be nice is if someone took a part and made it "better". For example, if a manufacturer said here is this part (knuckle/hub/whatever), it stands out over an above other manufacturers because (lighter/stronger/more clearance). Once they all start listening to us in forums like this, then we will see some real growth (read different parts). Look at all the dig setups out there, if a manufacturer would offer a canned solution, I think that it would sell, no? It takes away from a lot of the building aspect and the tinkering factor, but I think it would sell....and a LOT. |

I like the screw on the bottom of the motor plate, should keep the plate from moving any.

| Good! More companies making similar parts will drive prices down. |

Those parts are made by Hot-Racing. They are the same ones that I carry at my store. http://www.jpcustomrcs.com/page/page/5167230.htm The only difference is they charge more. Last edited by run2jeepn; 02-01-2008 at 05:24 AM. |

+1 on the Hot Racing parts, they just pulled 'em off the line right before the engraving machine that puts the HR on 'em. I have most of these on my truck. cept the green aluminum cross bar, yeah I want MORE weight up high! Giving them a hard time aside, the hot-racing(vemon) parts are pretty good for the price. Especially the Aluminum gear adapter. I was just that morning scoffing at it as a piece of bling, but I had some bad ocillation in my spur/pinion meetup. The stock plastic spur mount is not straight(at least mine isn't). That new gear mount eliminated the annoying ocillation. I got a few compliments on how quiet my rig was at the last comp...

I really hope that HR/venom's metal is a bit higher quality than the stuff Axial uses. one should not be able to strip out the threading on a pinion gear by tightening it down, or the threading on one of the holes in the motor plate by tightening it down. is that motor plate for outrunners or just for 540 motors?

The reaons I like this and yes i know it hurts our good vendors is ow my LHS's can get them. both of my LHS's have issues with Hot Racing and typically choose to avoid them. While yes i'll buy from CKRC or JpCustoms, people not in as deep as we are won't have access. Heck some people still don't have a computer or the internet... Good for the sport, though personally bad for the community we have. |

i see that to use the motor mount screw on the bottom you have to buy an optional mount that they give you a part number for but is not listed in that ad
