Default scale rig build up

I am new to the AX-10 and will be ordering a new kit tomorrow. I am starting a scale rig and was wondering what, if any, parts of the stock driveline and axles needs to be upgraded? I want to build a reliable rig from the start.

If you're building a scaler, Why not just buy the axles?
You can get them from several vendors here. Why buy the chassis and rest of the kit for a scaler?
I've used my AX10 in several comps, and bashing some, and haven't had anything break yet.
If you want to spend some $, there are several cool axle upgrades, also available from many vendors here at RCC.
Stock AX10 axles should be plenty stout for a scaler.

You can buy the axles, tranny and the X-trail chassis from TCS which is one of the nicer scale chassis out in my opinion.
I guess it will all depend if you want to go sprung or four link.
Good luck with the build.

bmuzz1, you totally just pointed out the obvious that I completely overlooked. My intention has always been to use leaf springs and scale shocks for the suspension. So there is no reason to use the 4 link for a scale rig. So really only the axles and tranny are needed.

Even though I just ordered a AX10 kit today, now I think I just found a reason for project #2: to build a comp truck or better yet, an "Edge" tuber!

Can anyone suggest a set of leaf springs and what length shocks for a 2.2 X-Trail chassis?

Here ya go...Harley's TCS X-Trail
TCS will be coming out with leafs for the X-Trail in a couple of months that are a direct fit if you can wait that long!
