I accept with information: There is about 1/16" between the two. Stock being an 87t spur,I doubt it'd take much smaller spur to clear the Maxx yokes.

It doesn't rub that bad. After a while the spur will cut a groove in the Maxx yoke. Mines been like that for many months now.

Alternatively, you can chuck it up in a drill and "machine" it down with a file.

I just got around to replacing the broken shaft. The unibit/stepper drill bit worked great, instead of using a 29/64 bit I used 7/16 for a closer fit. I used a sears handi cutter to cut the shafts. The male was first and I used the cut off part and stuck it into the female so when it was cut it would not crush or deform. I also boiled the assembled shaft to relieve stress (for about 15 minutes). I used 4 6mm long button head screws for attaching it to the shafts, i still have to grind the yoke a little to clear the 87 spur.

Drill the Integy yokes out to 6mm and use the Traxxas thru-bolt?

I have been running them for a while and they seem to work just fine

edit: updated with correct part #4927x
That's interesting. I picked up some of these the other day not realizing this was the case. The LHS only had one pack of the other yokes and these looked similar at a glance so I snapped them up. I haven't even opened the package yet, but if they just need an internal flat removed this could be an easy way to adapt to 5mm.

But I have to say ordering up some Wheelie King yokes with a 6mm input and putting those into my Axial axles looks to be a nice way to go, too!

I thought those were going to be the ticket too, but I ended up twisting one right off of the trans output.

Well, I just ordered some Punisher shafts anyway. Didn't have the patience (or the proper tools) to drill out the yokes.

None of this is necessary if you stick with MIP C-drives. 6mm to 5mm or vice versa is easy!

After about 3 broken yolks I decided to buy some new drive shafts until I saw this thread. I dug around in my parts bucket and found some old tmaxx shafts and did this mod in about an hour. Best part of it, it was FREE. Thanks for the right up.
