Default Carbon Fiber homebrew

I ordered me a sheet of 1/8" CF to use as some side plates and this is what I came up with:

Axial axles
MSD topguns/badlands
R2D
55t lathe
Mamba max
CC BEC
Multiplex Proficar 403
HS-5955TG steering 645 dig servo
inverted link geometry
cuttin board skid
1/8"Carbon Fiber TVP chassis

It has 2.75" of center clearance and is only 2" wide from outside of chassis plate to outside of plate.

Body on and elecs installed pics real soon.............

Depending on the thickness carbon fiber can flex a lot. But it does not just break when it goes, it shatters, so be careful of lots of little splinters.

Me likes. He said that the carbon fiber is very stiff.....stiffer than want you would expect....being so thin.

It is VERY stiff. A lot stiffer than I thought it would be.

Why so much concern with stiffness though? I thought crawlers were supposed to flex

I am gonna CA all of the edges to help prevent the carbon fiber splitting.

Nice work! CF does really good as crawler parts. CA'ing the edges is a great idea.

On a side note: Too anyone thinking of using CF .... Be sure to wear a dust mask and work in a well ventilated area. CF dust is not good for your lungs!

I knew not to do it, but thought my rigged up ventilation would work better than it did:-(. One bonus to have such a large nose, lots of filtration
