Default AX-10 Custom Tuber

So I dont know about the rest of you, but this is a boring time of year for me. The weather is crappy and theres only so much crawling available. (Being in the northeast anyways) This being said, I ran out of things to do to my crawler without buying more stuff for it. I was getting sick of looking at it every day without ever having crawled it. Needing an involved project to spend my time on, I lucked out when my friend said he decided it was time to start brazing. after about 20ft of brake line, 4 bottles of oxygen for the mapp gas torch, and 3 days of my life I will never get back, this is what I came out with. This is my first attempt at brazing, so go easy on me!

So the first thing that will make people mad is that I used the stock suspension mounting points, and therefore the links are still on the outside of the chassis. I wanted to start small with the designing so I started my plans with the stock suspension positions off of the stock chassis plates. On my next one I will make sure to change this to a "Stage 2" set up with longer upper links. Reguardless, it seems to handle a lot better than the stock set up, and it doesnt bind anywhere. I wasnt sure how strong it would be, but during the test run I wanted to find out so I first climbed a frozen hill in the sandpit (Very steep) and when I got to the top I turned around and jumped off of it and it ragdolled to the bottom. In the process the battery flew out and it got all scratched up, as you can see in the pictures. (turns out spraypaint isnt that resiliant) but the key point here is that nothing broke, so I am happy with it. I figure if that doesnt break it, I probably never will.

So what do you guys think?

Your brazing looks good.

You are going to need to brace the front shock mounts better though. You have a lot of stress concentration there with no triangulation to brace back to the frame.

Thanks Dan, Im glad you like it, means a lot coming from you.

Thanks to you too Harley, your right, Im not too happy with the front suspension either, I didnt leave myself enough room so my options were limited. Im going to sandblast it and rework a few things, that for one and add nuts to bolt the body panels too. What do you think I should do instead? Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks a lot guys for the input
