Default "mR.p!nK Designs" AX-tuber....

Joined the ax-10 camp over the weekend. Built pretty much as the directions say, only moved the shock spacers to the inside of the shock body to drop the CG just a bit. Added about 12oz to each front wheel and 6oz to each rear. Other mods will come with testing.

I had a lexan body all ready to go for it, a Baja Bug body that my friend screwed up while painting (dumbass left it in the basement of my house next to a door and froze the paint) I sprayed it flat black on the outside to cover HIS mistake.

I just couldn't do it. Seemed like cheating. I felt dirty. Sooooo......

Body bolts in stock body post location. As far as I can tell it is fully comp legal, overall dimensions are 4.5"W X 4"H X 9"L. The roof is raised 1.25" above hood line. I will be making panels for it tonight (might post up a how-2 on panels, haven't seen one of those yet) No ground clearance is lost and the two side tubes will act as rock sliders so I won't need to mount my lower links inboard.

Other specs so far....

Mamba max.
Revolver BL motor.
8 cell saddle.
Tower pro servo.
2.2 Soft Compound Mud Slingers. Stock foams.

Let me know what you guys think.....

12 oz in each wheel? holy shit man. i hope you replaced the stock locker. i run 3 oz in each(front) 2 oz each(rear) and i managed to destroy both. Here in HAwaii we have ridiculous traction though. but yeah, lookin good.

That definately looks nice.
I did the same basic thing, different style tuber than yours though, but it does mount at the same location as yours.

You rule Pink! Everytime you build a new tuber it is truley new. All new design, new style, new geometry, and yet every one works awesome, and looks even better. Amazing job again!!

Looking good man welcome to the ax-10's dark side lol. I like the MM mounting lol.... any other reason your not moving your lowers to the insed of the frame? It makes for better geometry with the flex steer, for the 5 min it takes to cut the skid I would but that's just me... Nice tube work once again... I can't wait to hear back from you about my PM. Thanks again Pink!

Nice work man! I like how you incorporated the stock frame in your design, and I really like the rock sliders on it!

If thats a body.....nope,it's not legal. It's to small. Bodies must be 12.5" long,5" wide and 3" tall

Not really....

2.1.3 - Bodiless vehicles: Must be a self-supporting, structurally complete, rigid frame. The roof must be raised a minimum of 1” from the main chassis to resemble a cockpit. The frame sides must be an overall minimum of 1” tall (The cockpit & frame side are to be measured vertically from where
the hood intersects the cab).

Size wise your good in the tube chassis area. Read the first statement in 2.1.3 carefully.

Your tube chassis is not a self-supporting, structurally complete, rigid frame.

If it was self supporting the rest of the truck would bolt to it. The truck parts are bolting to the chassis rails, and your tuber is just bolting to that.

However, even though it is not legal goign from the rules, its still freakin sweet and I want one! Good job dude, thats sick lookin!

You can see it all in this picture.....

Nothing bolts to it,therefore it's not supporting anything, much less itself.

Like here.....

The chassis supports itself along with the rest of my rig..

not seeing a difference here....

both are TVP's with a tube body firmly affixed. one uses welds, the other bolts.
