I like the price, but I woundering if its going to be strong enough. The internals are exposed unlike the VF dig.

The exposed internals will have little to no effect on the performance. I have the VF and I also like the slick look of the enclosed case.

R2D's have been in hundreds of comp rigs for quite sometime now and the exposed externals have not been a problem yet.

Sometimes you have to build custom stuff, you aren't always going have something that bolts right in. How hard will it be to mount a servo??? come on.

Also all you people need to stop whining about having the the externals exposed. like it effects anything. I think have the externals exposed is better, that way when something is not working right you can see what it is.

bottom line, if you dont like it, dont buy it.

Guessing this come with different outputs?

not that the exposed working aren't good just looks cleaner all packaged in the housing but like you said the exposed part help trouble shoot problems.

I like it. It will still use my bushings as well. And I do like that the linkages are external, easier to clean, lube and adjust. Maybe Harley will send me a proto for testing

I wasnt complaning yotachump. It just looks to be some thing that may fail. I've had friends strip spur gears, because of the elements here in MI. We got big rocks and alot of pee gravel around these rocks. The open internals could be a threat to guys up in MI. I like the price though, also tells me that there is a dig battle brewing. We need more vendors to start kicking out digs.

Coming from the 07 Vendor of the year I know it will be a great product!
Good job on making it more affordable. I have run the R2d for as long as
it has been out. It has worked flawless for me. It is all in the linkage setup
that makes these digs work. Also the Hitec 645 servo is all you should need
for this disconnect around $39.00 anywhere.

No battles here, we are 100% behind both units. We are not going to stop selling the VF unit, we are just supplying a second option at a different price point.

I have quite a few friends in northern MI and none of them have hd a problem with thier R2. Exposure to the elements should not be an issue thier.

I'll try to post up images of physical prototypes soon. We are also working on a servo mount for this, and also upgraded parts to help the the unit pop out of the lock position easier. We hope to get these working smooth with the mini servos. And we will offer these in a full ready to go version with the linkage and servo mount. Not sure of the price on the full ready to go version yet. But we hope to keep it under $50.

I'll try to get some pics up soon. I've had them on my camera for a while now. Just too busy with all the orders you guys send my way!

But we've had physical prototypes done for about a week or two now. And we already have the upgraded delrin lock plate out there for testing. Results so far are good. It helps the tranny slide out of lock allot easier. I have proto-testers of these and should have them up on the site in the bargain bin soon.

The stock rc4wd parts are done as well, and the main plates are done. We are just waiting on the diff adapter. If all goes well, we are hoping to send out the first round of pre-orders in 2-3 weeks.

The servo mount is still in the works and may be added to the stock production units later. I'm not sure how fast development of that will get done and into production.
