Ok, here are the lock plates:

These are available now as proto-testers:

And here are the pics of the physical prototype AXD. I didn't have the one slider bushing in when I took these pics though. Enjoy.

Matt,
I feel the same...I am running one of the stock spektrum servos on mine and it works flawlessly...

This will only come with the one output for the dig side.

And we should be able to do a good linkage setup for this so you only have to use a mini servo (if all goes well).

The first run will come with brass bushings. We may change to a delrin or Teflon bushing later. I'm not sure yet.

We had our first "production run" come and we made a few changes. Need to make sure they are good to go before we send any out. I hope this is the last round of changes for the stock setup (no servo mount). Thanks.

Default AXD Dig

I'm about to finalize an order for an AX10 kit and was just referred to this new dig option for consideration as well as the VF dig unit.

I can't help but ask, what else do I need to make this unit work in the Scorpion. Got the 3 channel and servo taken care of but what else is required for it.

Rank amature, rookie, newb will appreciate your help.

You'll need to mount your servo and make up a linkage for the AXD when it first comes out. We hope to finish development on a servo mount and linkage for it so it's one complete ready to go unit. But I'm unsure if we will go through with the servo mount and linkage part of production. Most likely we will though.

I've searched all over this forum for an answer but keep coming up with setups and new products and homemade stuff etc.

The question?? HOW DOES A DIG BRAKE WORK?? Please don't tell me it attaches to the trans and needs a servo... I know that but how EXACTLY does it work? I know it drags the back end around for shorter turns or something like that but how do you control it?

Maybe a dumb quetion but I'm still pretty new to this crawling stuff.:-(

There is no such thing as a dumb question.

The dig "disconnects" the rear driveshaft, like putting the rear axle in neutral. The front continues to pull. The brake part of the action stop the driveshaft from turning by a means of locking it. To accomplish this you need at least a 3 channel radio. Steering, throttle, dig.

Aha... OK so you want to use the third channel to operate the dig but how do you do it from the controller? I know it's a servo that disconnects the axle (I think) but what do you do to activate it? My controller has fwd, rev, rt and lt...no dig.

Using your third channel (and possibly a toggle switch-depending on your radio), the dig servo is set up so that "neutral" is a free-wheel for the rear axle. One endpoint of your travel locks the rear into four-wheel drive, the other endpoint locks the rear into a brake position.
There are a couple of threads in here that go into greater detail, but this is the short version.

Hello and sorry about the delay concerning our AXD setup. We had more issues with this design then originally anticipated. We are making sure we work out these issues before we start full blown production. I'm not sure of an exact eta but we are now going to take special measures to try and push this through the process as quick as possible to make sure we can release these asap.
