So you didn't have enough room for a servo horn for the drag link where the servo was mounted before? to close together. :-(

I am running the new shallow offset MSD's for the AX10 axles. The rear black spring is a stock Stampede front spring.

Yeah, I like your speed holes too.

Correct. I could have moved the tie rod down under the knuckles and there probably would have been enough room. But, I want to keep the tie rod on top of the knuckles so I had to move the servo up a little.

Looking good Brad. Cool servo mount too.

When are you gonna kick start it and crush some rocks?

Or will you just run it on the oval instead? O.I.F.F.

Thanks Jay. I'm hoping to get it running either today or tomorrow. I still need to get the driveshafts hooked up, finished mounting the steering servo, and make up a drag link. Then, I should be able to start testing. Maybe we'll hit something up this weekend.

This rig would dominate the oval.

I'll probably use Maxx shafts over the stock metal yokes.

Like so....
Maxx Shafts made easy.

That is a nifty idea, and it also reinforces the upper linkmount.

Great build...thanks Brad for your great informative build threads ...always very detailed...one question ,just curious why you decided to stay with the 3 link as opposed to the 4 link ?? would like to hear your thoughts of 3 vs. 4 link set ups...thanks again

Thanks, it cleans up the rear axle and supports the upper link mount nicely. Jason was the first to mod his rear plate, that I've seen.

Thanks.

I'll probably be messing around with a 4 link set-up at some point too. I've built a few of these SW3 AX10 rigs though, and the stock upper 3 link has worked great so far. Plus it gives you more room on the top of the axle to mount servos and batteries.

one of the many (many, many) reasons that i like the 4 link is that it levels out the uppers for my lipo to sit on

How are you holding the battery to the upper links? It doesn't bind the suspension? You're better off with a 3 link, because the upper link doesn't twist, it just moves up and down. My upper links sits flat right now, and the battery will be mounted on the front axle too.

i made a lexan plate thats zip tied to uppers. then the lipo mounted on the plate. NO suspension binding. NONE. i love the reverse triangulated four link. a 4 link gives a little more lateral stability to the axle. i love it: zero torque twist, ZERO AXLE STEER, less axle wrap, perfect amout of articulation (not much), great stability. I am one happy camper
