I'll be shooting video at the Colorado comp this weekend, there should be some footage of my rig in that. I also plan on shooting another solo video now that the dig is installed.

I got all the electronics in place, just need to install the Castle BEC on top of the VF dig. I guess it's time to get the new body painted up too. Don't hate the battery connectors.......................hate the game. |

| The electronics should be fine where they are now. The body covers them up pretty well and the wires are all out of the way of moving parts. The case on the Rx and the ESC may get scuffed up a little, but it's all part of the fun. |

...i was thinking about putting the electronics there too but they seemed precarious, but i guess if its ok for Bender then its ok for me ...You dont get too much interference from having the RX so close to the ESC though? |

I've been running my Mamba Max on the rear upper link mount(even more exposed than Brad's) for a year now, and besides the normal rock rash, it works fine. The worst I have done is somehow managed to land right on a pointed rock, and it dented one of the capacitors.....hasn't affected anything.

| I haven't noticed any interference yet, I'm usually fairly close to it while I'm driving.

Good to see you getting time to hack some parts again! That sure is a tight fit in there, everything is just barely clearing! Had any urges to go lipo again? |

My team mechanic, kris, got the Castle BEC installed today so I could run Rubbaneck's 3 cell lipo tomorrow during the comp. When I drive with my 2/3A cells now it just isn't the same, the borrowed lipo has spoiled me.

Yep, 3 cell sure is nice. I have been getting used to 4 cell lately, it is hard to turn back once the voltage bug bites. FYI many of the new 1300 packs are longer than the common sense one you will be running, instead of being 70mm the manufacturers have decided that 100-109mm is a good size. The 1300 innov8tive packs I was getting got changed too, only the 2 cell packs are the old short shape. |

My thoughts too, I really like the short 1300's. My importer may push to get the old mold back in production though. Many planes use the old 1300 footprint.

The current short packs around 1300mah I am finding are from hyperion in a 12c and polyquest in an 18c/27C rating. All of the 20c/30c packs are 100mm+ long that I have found so far from good factories. Flightpower, hyperion, and polyquest are all enerland cells, so flightpower may adopt the longer cell for future packs too. Lipo changes so much that it is hard to say what the future is though, it is one reason that I have a hard time keeping them in stock.

Got the Castle BEC installed, thanks to kris and jason. I also made a 2 piece Delrin tie rod for the steering, it helps slide the front linkage over rocks better in some situations because it has a little give in it. I got the flathead screws installed in the skid for the tranny and dig servo mounts. And last but not least, I installed NWTracTech's dual stage memory foams in the rear tires. After todays little test session I'll probably be adding another set to the front. We'll see how it performs at the Colorado comp tomorrow. |
