One thing is for certain. I. will. not. use anything other than a HH Cobalt Puller 10 turn if I can help it. I weighed stuff. I was wrong about the wheel weight. Memory fading... getting old I guess? Scale was for sure set to zero. Ready to rock out, only without the wheels. Hell, I think I got this right, it's at 90.7 ounces. Which makes this a 5.66875 pound truck. 47.4 ounces of it are wheels and tires. 43.3 ounces are not. I stole the scale from work, and I need to get counter sunk screws. |

I think it's pretty good honestly. As I have it, even with slightly longer links, it's still a tad short at just over 12 inches. That's my only concern really. Otherwise, everything else is real nice. ... more, later...

5.668 lbs... nice and lean... I like. Keep on running it through the EeePee torture test. I'm pleased you are liking it so far. Nothing in stone as of yet. It will however be affordably priced, just like our other chassis. It will also come in sexy stealth anodized black. A few FYIs... This chassis will directly replace a stock axial chassis. In the "spy" pic above, those are all the parts directly transfered from a stock built AX-10 (with the exception of the internal shock springs - only change from a stock set-up). The crawler in the pic sits at a 12 3/8" wheelbase. Last edited by PinchFlat; 04-09-2008 at 03:22 PM. |

Eee Pee, you can run a 55mm stock link to the passenger side for your draglink, fits perfect and really helps the steering.

Hey thanks for the comments guys! PeePee toucher? Yeah I like it a lot actually. I've had it out quite a few times dialing it in as best I can for this upcoming East Coast Champs thing. Quote:

Plenty of room!! Actually, I think if I were to run anything other than a 13 tooth pinion, I might have had to do some "make it fit" stuff to it. But as it is, it's in there. And there's only two screws holding the trans in place, and so far, so good. Quote:
Like that huh? I stole it from work, part of what we do deals with vinyl graphics, so I'd guess you can get it at some vinyl signs shop or something similar. I just got some of those Stage 3 Racing lockers today, so I'm gonna get crackin on getting those in. I'll give a little report about how they fit here in a bit. I'll also share some more about the set up. Til then! Late!

| Digging into the rear axle first. I put this locker in three weeks ago, right around three weeks I think. Group shot. Axial HD ring gear, and pinion of course, alongside the new Stage 3 Racing Chromo lockers. With the stock locker there's a noticeable slop in the hole where the pin to goes through. It might because of the three weeks of use, or not. But the Stage 3 has none of that. The slot for the axles are nice too. Not snug, not loose, but a perfect fit. A Stage 3 locker weighs 0.5 ounces, the Axials feel lighter than air. Nice product. I've stopped using grease completely. I'm tired of the mess. The Axial HD gearset looks brand new and it's not even close. All finished up and put back together and it's considerably more solid! What became very apparent is the slop between the outer axle and the inner axle dogbone. Not much else to say about them, but again, a nice product. |
