Default What's this title thing I'm typing in?

Hey guys what's up!? Well, I've put a lot of 1/10th scale miles on this thing and felt like updating the thread a little bit.

I also just won the last Tri State comp, and a bunch of indoor crawler league events with it and felt like bragging. So, here ya go.

Panther red dots, with Northwest Traction Technology hybrid foams.

Thinking about a Holmes Hobbies Handwound motor... Got my mirrored transmission thing goin... Look, no dig either!

I got the Axial rear lockouts and straight axles too. And I have RC4WD axle Cs, and RCP knuckles up front.

Tiny Spektrum SR3500 receiver. Perfect fit. Look, the AT&T guy is on my servo horn screw.

The Tekin B1R ESC is great, and a perfect fit too. Working out the bugs with a reverse issue. No big deal though.

5 volt, 1.5 amp BEC can be a little weak at times, so I have a tap for an external BEC wired in, but I haven't really felt the need to use it.

... And that's about it!

Big thanks to all the names listed below, I appreciate it!

Good looking rig EeePee. Are the hybrids reach or squat and are they #5 or #8? Thanks

Both are Rockhammer Hybrid Reaches, and up front is the #8, and in back is the #5.

Any new mods on this rig EP? i will be looking for a new chassis as soon as i finish my other trost tuber ax-10, i think my stock chassis may have reached it potential with all the mods i have on it and i just need a better chassis, also did i read on suspension tech sticky that you are using the y links for the uppers again?

Nope. Everything is working great, and effectively. I kind of figured my last update would be pretty much the last update. There may be a dig set up in the future, but with last weeks win (among others ) against most of the big dogs in the TSC group, I might not. I was seriously considering it, but now I'm not so sure. Yeah it has it's advantages, but so does driving well.

The biggest change the Reign chassis makes compared to the stock chassis is the width. A narrower chassis hands down works better than a wide chassis. Better lower link geometry, and less to get hung up on. And it becomes apparent as soon as you start driving through the hard spots. That reason alone makes it worth it. It weighing less is good too.

Whenever I use the Axial optional battery/servo tray thing I run the stock 3 link up front. It works fine. A washer and fuel tube on the one side, and a washer on the other side. The fuel tube gets rid of the little bit of play in the ball and socket.

I lied a little. Tri-State Crawlers is hosting a comp called Battle Grounds so I'm making a few changes.

As cool as the tucked away ESC and receiver were, I had a small issue. So what you see here is a special Tekin FXR, it's a little thicker than the normal one, and packs a bit more power for the BEC. I couldn't find my TCS electronics trays, so I cut a piece of blue plastic up and countersunk two holes and... it is what it is. The receiver is stuck on the back of the servo, and that's a MaxAmps 860 2 cell Lipo battery.

The reason for the change was for increased performance for my steering. Whilst the B1R's performance was good, it would not allow full steering power every once and a while. This particular FXR has 6 volts, and more amps than any other ESC I'm aware of on the market.

I had been testing it on my 2.2 Clod TCS Stick for a while, usually with a 3 cell Lipo and two 65 turn motors and 13 tooth pinions. Which is pretty fun by the way. I have a small servo for a dig switch, and used an Airtronics 361. Cliff noted, it worked awesome.

I could have used either of the two external BECs I have here on the B1R, but went with the FXR instead cause it's cool to run new stuff!

Yes, however as mentioned earlier, this one is a little different, mine is a beta tester with more.

Missed first place by 3 points today. Hit the fuzzies on a gate I shouldn't have. Hate when that happens.

Edit, make that one point. One point !
