Default ** New Rock Star Chassis Build**

I bought this chassis to start my first comp rig. I have tried different combos with shocks and the way they show the chassis set up on CKRC just wasn't working for me. So I set it up my way. I put the shocks to the outside, I cut custom links for the center. Moved center links inward, and adjusted the shocks from a small droop to fully sprung. THe chassis sits to the skid plate @ 2". This might be set up totally wrong, but putting the shocks inboard and going out on the axles really stressed them. They would not articulate very well and would bind bad. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to tell me. I have searched for some threads on this chassis but to no avail.

I have mine set up just like my Stage 2 set up. You can see the settings in the pics. Move the links and shocks in a bit. I had no binding issues. You can see in the pics that I had to add spacers on the outside of my shocks to limit articulation. I flexed 90 before I limited it. Hope this helps.

I notice your running an R2 tranny, how is that working for your set up. I ordered a R2 with disconnect. I moved teh 4 link to the outside. Thanks for the link it really helped me with some issues I was having. I feel this boomerang link off the tranny is making things a little akward!

Lookin good Nick, Did you just do those links or did you pull them off the bronco? When did you order an r2 with disconect, are you going to run it instead of the axial tranny with dig?

The R2D is awesome. It fits tightly, but it fits. I run a 55t motor with a 15t pinion. It's pretty tight. I added a 1mm shim to gain clearance in the sideplates. Others run a 45t with a 14t pinion.

Ground clearance is 2 7/8" running Losi Claws.

Skeeno I want to ask one more question? With the new tranny can I run the stock axial axles or will I have to get a set up like yours. Where did you get that axle set up?

Yea I lowered the body, so the "highscraper" is now sitting perfect! Anyone have set ups pics of comp rigs using this chassis. I have started tweaking things and wandering if anyone has a good set up for the shocks and links?
