Default ax10 metal trans gears................

would it be worth replacing the plastic stock tranny gears with metal....what would be a good set to get......................bob

I've only seen a couple blown up plastic gears, I guess metal would be better for the full bullet proof trany.

id be more to say wait until you need to replace your stock ones.

I haven't seen much crawling compared to the vets around here. From my experience of the original tranny Axial copied the only gear failure I ever saw was poor owner maintenance. Keep it clean, the bearings lubed and she should last for a long time.

Spend the money else where on things you need now.

I would say the output shafts need upgrade more than gears. Im running the hot racing gears and GH racing alum case and VF outputs on the way. So far its been bullet proof. Metal gears are not really needed, but if you do you'll prob never have to worry about em again.

i have 1 ax with the hot racing alum gears and case..home built outputs
bulletproof!..and still i run a clutch disc..if something isgoing to break its not my trans or axle....gotta finish to win!!

im still running the stock gears , i have a 55t brushed intagy on 8.4 volts my whole drive line from the alxles to tranny is stock but pede shafts get poped off sometimes, like someone elts said spend your money eltswhere till you need to upgrade your gears

no motor yet, just doing some homework before buying....most likely a 35t warrior from HH....thx all fer da replies ....................bob
