DMG DCV PRO rock racer build. I am turning my AX-10 into A rockracer. I am starting with a Death Metal Garage DCV PRO. I don't know if I will go 1.9 or 2.2. I'll build it both ways and let you decide what works better. Here are some pics of what I'm starting with plus my AX-10 kit.8):twisted::twisted: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6096.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6095.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6094.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6097.jpg |
looks good! Should be fun! I was thinking about a rock racer but wanted something i could let my little bro learn how to drive. |
Do you have a link to where you got that chassis? It looks awesome. |
The search function does work. I just found the info about the chassis in the vendors section. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...h+metal+garage |
Looks like it's gunna be good but do you really want all what weight in a rock racer. |
The chassis weighs 8 OZ. It's aluminum. Very light! The weights are for the wheels only if needed. |
...they are pretty light...lighter than they look anyway...ut the DCV PRO is pretty big... "thumbsup" Will be watching this one Spotty 8) |
I got the links, shocks, and axles put on. Well mocked up anyway. I think I need to lower the ride height a little. Let me know what you think. Remember, this is a rockracer, not a crawler.;) http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6149.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6150.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6151.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6152.jpg |
I think you should cut those side panels even with the top of the side brace and lowed the ride height some. What motor/ESC combo are you going to use? |
...thats kinda how mine is sitting right now too :D WB with all stock AX10 stuff is 110 cm...sorry dont know what this is in inches yet but its 1cm short of 12.5 :D |
I got it all put together now. I still need to lower the ride height and I'm working on a set of narrowed rock claws to get the right look. I am also working on lexan body panel so I can paint them. I should have more pics tomorrow. |
You are doing exactly what I had planned. I even contacted DMG about getting one but decided to be more responsible with my stimulus check. But it's in the plans for sure so I am excited to see how yours turns out. What motor/ESC/batteries do you plan on running? |
OK, I finaly got some time to work on it:twisted:. I got the ride height lowered down to where I want it. Installed some cheap electronics just to see how it works"thumbsup". I need your help on what rims and tires to go with. 2.2 or 1.9??????:?::-P Before http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6150.jpg After http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6223.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6222.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6224.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6225.jpg OK 2.2???? http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6223.jpg OR 1.9???? http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h9...2/100_6226.jpg |

This thing is wicked fun to drive!!!!!!:twisted::twisted::twisted::tw isted: I think the 2.2s work better for the whole rockracer thing.
