| Rear steer
I want to put rear steer on my ax10 but idk what I need to complete this. I have I standard rear axle with no steering components. I know I need c hubs, knuckles, a servo, and a rear steer kit but what else. I will be using a spektrum dx3s with the truck so idk if I'll need a mixer either. Thanks

get yourself a SPEKTRUM dx5e; fully proportional rear steer, not just left/right/centre.

Just know you can not compete with rear steer in 2.2 class

I don't plan on competing and I use my spektrum with other trucks so I won't be getting a different one. I Dont want to go buy a new axle either if possible. The only other thing I need on my list is cv's to turn my rear axle into a front?

I have 4ws on my ax-10. You need all the same conponets as the front. You don't need cv's, just dog bones if going cheap. I am only running a 2 channel radio. So I am running a "Y" conector for the servors. Fun to play with. I needed this cause I am running with friends who run 4ws redcats.

I did read through your post for a bit when my buddy who works on my crawler was here, and haven't had time to go back and read it all. I'm trying to buy all the stuff before he comes back over again and helps. I'm paralyzed from the upper chest down and my hands are crippled up so I havve to have help working on my rig. We haven't tore either of the axles apart yet.

OK, well dont I feel like an asshole now! Haha. OK. Here we go. Your front axle is basically this: axle housing outer Cs knuckles top hats 2 screws for the Cs 2 screws for the knuckles servo plate servo servo horn drag link tie rod 3 screws for mounting the steering to the knuckles Your rear axle has lockouts and straight axle shafts. The lockouts will need to be replaced with Cs and knuckles, and the shafts will have to be replaced for dog bones or CVDs. Also, you will need to think about how you will control the rear steering. If you run a 3 channel transmitter like the Futaba 3PM-MX, you can do the mixing all right there at the radio. But, if you choose a 3 channel radio like the Spektrum, you will need to purchase a 4 steer switch from PunkRC. I got mine from CKRC...they are good to deal with IMO. But, if you plan to just wire up both servos together (1 backwards) then you can just use an inverting Y-harness from Holmes hobbies. Good luck. I think I got it all. Casey |

I think it will be cheaper to buy an axle for 40 bucks and installing better knuckles and hubs and my locked components from my rear than buying all the extra stuff.

You are right...there is no actual part list in my thread. It is a build up thread. As for attachment...at the end of the axle is a hex (six sided nut) and the wheel attaches to it. The front and rear are the same.

Can u help me out by telling me exactly what I need to change the rear axle to a front including the size of screws and or nuts needed to attach the steering. Ive all ready got a good set of aluminum knuckles after changing my front to high clearance.

You are gonna need another pair of bearings as well. The rear axles have two less than the front, 5x11x4 mm. You should be able to pick up a pair of Traxxas bearings at any hobby shop.

Your best bet would be to open your assembly manual, write down the part numbers, and then send your buddy out to get them....or have RPPHobby deliver them. Casey |
