Default Axial Top Banana

Here it is, my first Axial build
Unfortunately, this one isn't for me... I'm building it for another SoCal member. Our goal with this rig was to build the ultimate Axial comp rig.

I'm very impressed with the Axial stuff. The kit has gone together nicely, and is looking pretty awesome with the Banana.

Here's one of my new Axial/TLT upper link plates. With it, you can run double triangulated or parallel upper links, or offset the servo for battery clearance. I decided to try the parallel uppers on the rear of this rig, with a double triangulated front. The rear links are 70mm axial threaded posts, and the front uppers are 50mm.

I have a ton of cool stuff planned for this rig, so stay tuned It will be competing at the West Coast Crawler Challenge in two weeks, so its going to have to come together pretty quick.

Up next: The drivetrain

How much travel do those shocks have? It doesn't look like it could be a whole lot.

Revo shocks actually have a decent amount of travel, I'm using them on this rig over in the TLT section. WCC Top banana build

I'm using a fairly heavy internal spring on the axial build, but I'll be adding a lot of wheel weights to get them to flex. It won't be as flexy as a stock axial, but this rig will be 10x more stable on the rocks.

RCP crawlers should have the chassis on their website this week, and the link plates will be in production soon. You can also buy them direct from me once I have more in stock

I see for a very low profile stance on this one.
Keep it up, looking good far.

Is that the name of the chassis.....Top Banana? If it is, sounds cool.

Looks interesting. Subscribed to see how this one turns out. Your TLT Top Banana is amazing. Do you always run the back higher than the front? Or is that just for the photo?

I anxious to learn more about the Revo shock set-up. Being so short makes them look beefy. What kind of travel are you getting from them?

There can't be much travel w/ the Revo shocks, they're designed to be used with rocker arms. It's a totally different setup.

This rig is setup with internal springs on both sides of the piston in the front shocks. It keeps the front from unloading too much on the big vertical climbs, but it does limit travel a little bit. The rear shocks just have a spring on top of the piston, so they act like a normal sprung shock setup. Once the drivetrain is in, it will sit a little closer to level.

Having the back a little higher helps a lot with big breakovers. However, my personal comp rig performs better with the chassis raked the other way...

The chassis are $60, and RCP should have them on the site any day now. I know they got a ton of new stuff in this week, so I don't think my chassis have made it to the website yet.

I will have them for sale here on RCC starting next week Watch for a giveaway in the vendor section soon...
