Default GhettoCrawlers Home Made Dig

I entered the Ghetto Crawler in it's first comp next weekend. I entered as limited (no dig), but that sounded so limited . So I set out to make a dig based on the dig post in the top of the Ax 10 forum.

I basically built mine just like the original fabber, but I used brass nipples and bushings instead of galvanized. I also thought I could come up with something besides the arm that the servo linkage connects to.

I used maxx shafts, but I had to drill the center of the yokes and insert the correct pieces for the input shafts to fit into... and I had to shave down the one by the gear. It was actually rubbing the spur some.

Instead of an arm, I used a ball connector from a Tamiya truck. I drilled a hole into the dig coupler, tapped it and threaded in the ball end. This was low profile enough to have the linkage run down the side of the shaft instead of over the top, which I wanted to do anyway.

Where some people in the original post made a plate with a slot to hold the linkage in and keep it from turning during dig, I found I could use a tie wrap loosely looped around the linkage and lower suspension linkage to keep it in check.

I had to tinker a lot with linkage lengths and servo EPAs to keep it from disengaging when flexing on the pass side, but I got it and it seems to work great.

Red face Life after death

"Do you believe in life after death?" the boss asked one of his employees."Yes, Sir." the new recruit replied."Well, then, that makes everything just fine," the boss went on. "After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped in to see you. ----------------------------------Do you look for free wow gold?
