| I usually lurk here and post on the Florida section. BUT something happened to day I am still not sure I believe. I was crawling by the river here today where plenty of birds and squirrels plays. One squirrel was very interested in my truck. He/she decided to climb (crawl) down the the ground the get a closer look. It followed my truck around the parking lot and rocks for about 15 minutes. It stayed within 5 feet the entire time. If I turned away, it followed, if I turned into it, it moved back. never afraid, never agressive just curious and playful. At one point, I climbed a rock which seemed to blow his/her little mind! Then it climbed a tree....which I cannot do yet....it saw I could not and came back down for closer examination. I regret not having a camera to photo this awesome event but wonder who else has had similar experience? Eventually it grew tired of me and my toy and moved on for food. I will go back tomorrow with some nuts and axial...and 2 batteries. |

| well, a few years ago I had a problem with squirrels eating everything in my garden, so I bought a Tamiya HUMVEE kit and chased them out of the garden with it. The hummer was set up with a 8T motor, so it was pretty quick! I ended up totaling the car while chasing down a 'tree rat'. I lost control over some uneven ground, the car clipped the fence at an angle and did a NASCAR end over end crash, ripping off 2 of the wheels and destroying the body! Mr squirrel didn't want to chase the car any more after that happened. |
