Nice job Axial!! 55t axial motor is the same number of turns as a 55t lathe motor... I assume you mean braking, not breaking right? As in drag brake? Shouldnt be able to tell a difference. Quality of the motor looks to be the same as well, I am assuming its not handwound so drag brake characteristics should be very similar.

I haven't had a chance to test mine out on the rocks yet. But, on a motor dyno the numbers were right there with a standard 55t motor.

Looks like it might be a sealed endbell type. That kinda sucks, if your brushes wear out, gotta buy a whole new motor instead of brushes. Plus its bushed instead of bearing'd, another miss in my opinion. But if the motor works well and is cheap enough, might just be easier to keep buying replacements.

That's, and English lessons suck. Seriously, the Axial motor looks like a nice CHEAP powerplant which should provide many hours of fun before breaking. Also, the brakes should work well with it as long as the ESC has them, brakes that is.

that looks like a big miss. sealed end bell, bushings, no way to tune or change springs... odds are brakes will be light most sealed endbell motors use soft springs, which give little to no braking if street price is allot less then MSRP it may be OK for a mud rig. but for anything else a rebuild able motor is the way to go.. should be nice for the RTR newbies out there.

Its nice that Axial is putting parts out for their rigs... But.. looking at the specs of the motor, and price... i would go with an Integy lathe over the Axial... simple because its like $2 more, and you can rebuild it...

It is just a 55t lathe motor. The 55t motors were originally designed for com lathes. More torque and less rpm. Rock Crawling is a great application for this motor. Evan

Ive been running an integy 55t for about 2 years and the brushes are still no-where near worn, comm still looks shiny. No big issue IMHO, maybe it is just an entry level motor? After all, Axial provide an entry level truck as well. Matt

I saw this online the other day.. but as stated before, it's only two or three bucks cheeper then a Novak 55 or Integy 55T.. I think I will stick with those.
