So I think I have the basics done as far as performance hops ups. I have enjoyed watching each hop-up change the performance of the rig. This is what I have so far: Novak Rooster + 55t Futaba 2.4g FAAST tx/rx CS-150 193oz servo Losi 4" shocks upside down 35wt MIPS CVD C-Drive Splines Losi Rock Claws 10.5oz weights front / 6oz rear split pack battery 30 degree links I really like the way it performs now, but I am ready for the next level. You guys have been super helpful in my decisions so far. So any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thanks guys! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() *

Whipnet, looks to me like you did a really good job on your build. The only thing I could possible suggest is if your getting alot of torque twist is going to a trianglalated skid plate and a 4-link setup. But if it is working sweet don't mess with it.

Go for durability, especially if you're going to comps. RCP knuckles and Cs, and a rear straight axle kit is a great way to go. I'd also consider narrowing your chassis. I made my skid in about 2 hours our of 1/4 inch delrin plate. Removed nearly all of the torque twist and gave better clearance. You can buy the skid to do it, but still need to make a way to mount the electronics.

Lose the top battery plate. Mount the electronics on the front uppers. And definetely aluminum all around. Last edited by rc4x4crawler; 07-17-2008 at 11:28 AM. Reason: add

Aluminum to replace ALL plastic eventually. I love in crawling where weight (of course within reason) is good. So bling=performance. I resorted to titanium for the Savage to keep the weight down and the bling. I like to bash my queens hard! *

Looks like a nice setup, the best thing you could possibly do is get out and drive that thing! It looks brand new now. Setup is only half of a rigs performance

x2 dirve it a little more and see what you dont like. Take some action pics or even some video to share. This way we can help you make some improvments if needed. Your set up and driving style will steer you to the right upgrades, IF needed. Good Luck hitting the rocks, looks like a great build. * Theres a lot of stress up front. 193oz is plenty. Dont waste another $120.00 on something when it could be used for other useful items. I see you already running a alum servo horn and the steel shafts. Something really to consider down the road, would be some aluminum knuckles and Aluminum c-hubs. Ide either wait to see if they brake then buy a set or get them now if your worried about it. I dont know how you drive so i cant tell if you need them or not. Ive seen people take 1st place left and right with rtr ax10s. It was there set up and all the practice they got in. Good Luck;)

x3. When I saw the pic, I thought "Oh, another pretty looking rig that's never seen the rocks". I found out very quickly what needed to be changed/upgraded after a few sessions on the rocks.

Practice, practice and more practice... Once you have driven it for awhile you will figure out your driving style. With that, you will be able to know what your next hop-up part should be...
