Default DNA Longshot Prototype

So you like the Slingshot but don't like the idea of a short shock.

This will make you decision a whole lot easier!

The DNA Longshot Protoype.

The DNA Longshot still retains all of the amazing characteristics and features of the Slingshot but with additional shock mounting holes for those that would like to use a full length shock.

This particular setup is using Traxxas Aluminum Big Bores with Losi white springs as well as droop springs internally.

looks good also liking the design but can you say holy mounting holes batman. hey it has adjustbility and looks like you can set it up for any kind of suspension.

Looks like there are enough holes to use any shock combo that you can dream up. Very nice!

That was the idea. It maintains all of the Slingshot holes with additional rows at .25" spacing. I have lots of test plans I want to do and maximum adjustability was the highest priority. I think I got it

Congrats Whoodie on the new design and input you had on it. It looks very good. The new body looks great also.

I am sure I will get flamed for this, but I don't like it. I looks like and SW2 chassis with more holes drilled.

Hmm, interesting. Remember this is a prototype, not a final production version. The design more than likely will change.

additional shock mounting holes? by looking at the pics i have to say that is a huge understatement

i count 49 mounting holes per shock!

i definatly have to look into this. ive been wanting to ugrade to some sort of comp chasis but didnt want to buy a set of new shocks. this definatly looks like the one for me

i was thinking of getting a slingshot but was worried that my battery wouldn't fit under the chassis brace it would be a close thing and id have to go full droop with my modified losi shocks as well i guess
this may have solved my problem

Before I received this chassis from Don I made some shock tower extension plates that bolted onto the original Slingshot chassis. I drilled 140 1/8" holes by hand on the bridgeport. What was really crappy was that I did not have an 1/8" drill and had to use a non center cutting endmill. So after every hole I had to stop the machine and pick the disk off of the endmill that was left over. It was ridiculously tedious.
