Default XC-1 body dimension Comp legality?

Hey all. Recently finished my AX10 with a XC-1 body. I mounted it pretty low so I had to cut the fenders off so they wouldn't rub on the tires. I was recently PM'd asking if this body mod was Competition legal (dimensions??).

Being new to the hobby, I really have no clue as how to answer this. Any help on the rules would be appreciated

Scott as long as you meet the minimum dimensions for the body you can cut to your hearts content.

Some people still get confused with the 30% rule for body cutting and that is no longer the case.

Hope it helps

Thanks for the info. I'll read those rules. I think this body is bigger than the proline helios, and that is comp legal.

Thanks again

Well I was the one who pm'd him and got the whole fracas started. I read through the rules and I'm sure he did as well, but I think we were a bit fuzzy about the whole "original width statement". Obviously, as the rules state, the center of the body can be no less than 5 inches, or original width, but what about the fenders? With the XC-1 body, it has premolded lines around the fenders to make it a bit easier on a person hacking the fenders down to their preference. I guess I'm just trying to make sure our "preference" is comp legal.

Where in Richmond do you compete? I will be on the East coast for work, I would like to check out your spot.

I live in Richmond, KY. Coyote Hobbies out of Lexington, KY runs all of our comps around here. The popular spot around here is the beach at Fort Boonesborough, that's where we've had all of our comps. Coyote is also in cahoots with a local car dealership to host a comp August 30th here in Richmond. If you are around you should come check it out (or sign up and run with us), it's a blast.

KY I thought Richmond VA. Oh well. The photos on that site are cool. Land Rover dealerships have cool rock formations that they display one of their trucks on. That can be fun too.
