Default Dinky R/C Proto Chassis Spy Shot...The "Manx"

Presents

The "Manx"

Testing starts very soon!

Although the suspension set-up has already
been thoroughly tested in my current comp rig
over the last two years.
I took the dimensions for this new TVP design,
directly from my comp-dominating tuber,
shown below.

I expect to have similar,
if not identical handling characteristics
with the new TVP style chassis,
as my current tubular chassis.

It took the '07 KCRC Series Points Win.
And I currently hold the '08 Series Points Lead
by 11 Pts. Placing 1st or 2nd,
every comp this season!

These are not yet available for sale...
But I do intend on selling them very soon...

Comments welcome!
Build thread starts soon!

Thanks,
Dinky R/C

That looks great. Almost the same mounting holes as the stock chassis. I would love to know the price, or even be a tester. I love the upper plate for electronics. Best ive seen yet!

P.S. Do you guys have a website, or do I just contact you for purchases?

very nice looking. One question, Is it just me or does it look very tall? i.e. the shock mounts and electronics tray. just constructive criticism

Any resemblance you see to a stock Axial chassis is pure coincidence. Matts was running the same set up on his comp rig for well over a year before Axials kit even hit the market.

Let me know when youve got some ready, I may be willing to set my GC2 off to the side for a while. What can I say, Imma chassis whore.

Now that is a very interesting looking design there. Can't wait to see a build up of this one.

Dinky R/C

Is proud to bring you their first prototype
*****comp chassis****

Testing in actual comp trim this weekend.
It will be hammered on, and tested by multiple drivers.

The chassis kits will soon be available for partial payment pre-order
by Monday of next week. With an expected time of delivery
in approximately 2 weeks, give or take. Not sure on price yet, but it will
be similarly priced, compared to other TVP style chassis.

I would also like to announce that I will be teaming up with
the big "Z"over at

THE DMG
"Master of the aluminum tubers"

To help bring you both versions of essentially
the same suspension set-up.

So if tubers aren't for you,
you can virtually buy the same rig in TVP form,
and be able to run whatever body you want!
Although the tubers will be available in very limited #'s

One of the local KCRC club members volunteered
his rig as the beta tester.
And they will soon be in the hands of more than a few of the other KCRC members in the coming weeks.

This chassis design, in tuber form, has dominated the last
2 seasons of local competition.
Taking the series points win for '07,
and currently leading the '08 series by 11 pts.

Now, for some build shots...
still some tidying up to do...
but hey, are they ever really done?!

Ride height: 2 1/4", WB: 12.5"

All Delrin cross-bracing and skids will be black. Not white as shown.

Room enough for you VF dig! This rig is set-up with the "Dinky-Dig" though...

Couple of "body-on" shots to show the fit.
Almost hate to cover up the design though...

We're not ready for partial payment pre-orders quite yet, but If your interested in purchasing, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks,
Dinky R/C

That's of course the Losi Grappler, Ultra-flat black. it did turn out pretty sick. Wait till it gets tagged with the new "Team Dinky R/C" swag!

Price is still undetermined, as I'm not sure what
types of package deals I may offer. I'd dare to say $75-$100 range.
Pending package style, but nothing is set yet, and we will do our best to give you a top-notch product, at a fair price.

Ohh, whats this Dinky Dig you speak of? Can you get arrested for using it in public? My "other" dig is pissing me off, might have you put me down for one of those too.

For anyone looking to get a rig ready in advance, have you got measurements for the upper and lower links yet?

The Dinky Dig is a shaft/sleeve type dig, similar to most of the home-brew style digs everyone started with. I just refined the parts some. And no, you cannot be arrested, unless your not licensed to carry one.
Might provide a few of the necessary machined pieces to the public. Not sure yet. I know some of the locals already have had alot of success with it. They work very well, actually changing mine back today from something else.

As for upper/lower link measurements, I may have those included in a package deal. They are tapped T-6 aluminum tubes, 8/32" threaded rod, with Jato ball ends. Super tough! If you notice, the rear is actually shorter than the front by about 1/4".

Your next in line for the first batch of production models RivBlue

Thanks,
Dinky R/C

I'm digging the asymetrical design of the chassis. I think that is a first, all in itself.

The rig ran and handled great very little adjustments and it will be a first place truck for sure

Well, I'm very pleased with the rigs comp debut in Columbia, Mo.
at CMRCRC's awesome Capen Park!
The first test in comp trim went very well this weekend.
I had front axle failure in my tuber I normally compete
with, right before the last gate
on course 1.

Ouch!

But the guys down at CMRCRC
were cool enough to let me complete my course 2 run
with "asrcrawlers" beta tester,

"The Manx"

I came home with a respectable
4th place out of 16. Not bad, for a brand new rig!
Including the breakage on course 1.
Didn't even have a chance for a shake-down run before hand.

I'm very pleased with the overall performance.
And definitely feel that it has similar handling characteristics
and the same predictability as my current comp rig.
"The Manx" seems to track very well,
and the recommended set-up
gives you the ability to
"stay on your line"
by keeping axle-walk to a minimum.
Allowing me to get one of the lowest scores on course 2!

The first batch is at the CNC this week.
And hope to have them in the hands of a few locals
very soon. And available for order thru the new
website soon after that!
