I made up hybrids using Maxx yokes for the axle end, the shafts that match those yokes, and then the Traxxas steel yokes at the trans end so I could run a larger spur gear. The end with the steel yoke has the smaller "truck half shaft" that it's attached to and that is CA'd into the larger female Maxx shaft. Here's a clear picture of when I finished them up:

What's interesting is that the only real reason I decided to draw up a template for these plates is due to the fact that I had issues with my security settings, and my computer or browser was not letting me "checkout" on TCS's website. If it had worked ok, this rig would probably be sporting those plates from TCS, and I'd have never made up my own templates

Well, I have the body mounts & body done for it...at least till I can find a comp body I want and get it painted. I ended up using my still brand new OEM blue WK body. I removed all the stickers and repainted the window areas and the "bed cover" flat black on the outside, then added a couple new stickers. Did some major surgery also to keep it realllly low. Sorry, no pics tonight...I'll shoot some tomorrow night.

Think I am going to ditch the Sidewinder in lieu of my MM, and I also have a couple battery packs on the way to fit it just right.

Here she is. All ready for it's first comp/gtg. Going to give 'er a shot this weekend. Flexing a bit more than I think it needs, but we'll see how it does. I may change over to Revo shocks with longer lower rod ends and see if that nets a bit less droop.

Isn't that body gorgeous (I need vendors to send me more stickers :-P)

I hope it does do well....although I don't have the dig unit yet, so I may get walked all over by the others with dig. We'll see on Sunday :-( Guess it depends on the course.

Well, not everything went as smoothly as I had hoped this weekend. First, I realized how important dig is when you only have the one steering axle Second, it's a bit tougher to wheel your rig through someone elses route instead of your own. Third, I found that the Hot Racing rear straight axle shafts are weak

Took a nice roll off of a 3 to 4 foot ledge and landed right on the rear tire with a loud thud. After picking up the rig, I noticed the wheel wasn't straight any longer. The fall had bent the shaft right at the weak point...where the hole is for the wheel hex cross pin. I was able to bend it back to finish up the course, but at that point it was now weaker which meant it didn't last much longer and I was unable to continue on to the other course.

I think once I get the dig in, the shocks on it that I wanted to put on it (with the right oil), and junk the HR rear lockouts in lieu of the MIP CVD's and knuckle lockouts....I'll be much better off.

Here's a couple pics.....thanks to SamuraiAZ

Offroader, I am running a sprung blackwidow. I dont know how you feel about sprung as apossed to droop, but my losi sprung bw is amazing! I noticed is some of your comp pics how your rig was leaning hard on climbs. Just something to consider.

X2 - I like sprung personally.

Hey OffRoader, did you see my thread about mine being finished finally?!

Well, it is "done"...but I do have some changes I want to do since seeing it perform in it's first comp.

-Swapped out the servo for the 5955 I had (wanted a bit more torque).
-Installed a CC BEC to handle the new servo nicely.
-Swapped out the Traxxas shocks for the Prolines I had (with the right oil in them this time )
-Got rid of the weak HR rear straight axle...and right now just have the stock knuckles back on and locked out.
-Buying CVD's here pretty quick.
-Swapped the Axial trans outputs over to the CDW 6mm.
-Swapped out the Axial axle pinions for WK's to get the 6mm and hole through the shaft.

-Still need to pick up a DNA dig for it.
-Swapping over to 32 pitch gearing (HH Cobalt likes to eat the 48p ones')

One reason it was leaning so badly is due to the fact that I was lazy before going to that comp and didn't change out the fluid in the shocks...or just simply swap in the right shocks. They were only running 30 weight in them and I am used to the others I have with 3000 weight :-P

I'm not totally opposed to sprung...I try something different it seems every time I touch one of my rigs.
