Robbob's CDW Posted this in the wrong area yesterday .... still asleep at work when I did. Well to my shock I got the frame early, I ordered it on last Thursday and got it dropped Saturday. It was a tough pick for me which frame I was gonna go with. I watched the prototype builds and like the tunability I saw in the frame. Frame layed out http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b.../ADSC00011.png I started with the axles, figured I should tear them down and make sure everything was still good with the factory aluminum. Here you can see my lockers and the drilled pinion shaft. I drilled the pinion shaft to take the Traxxas long set screws they use with my Emaxx front shaft mod. Have heard the horror stories from drilling these but havent had any signs of problems yet. The purple goo you see is some synthetic grease Ive been using for a long time, doesnt take much or breakdown. For these I got my white delrin cut and tapped with Revo shock rod ends and 3mm screws. The rear axle was pretty much the same build as the front except I didnt drill the pinion shaft since I run a factory driveshaft on it. The rear also has the locker with stock shafts for now. That is nice. I didnt realize that the two chassis plates were different. Now I want one, are they for sale to the pubelic yet? Will the servo pointing down slightly cause any problems like increased wear? Edit, never mind I guess not since the tires are flat with the clocked C's |
Looks good"thumbsup", but I would suggest you get more triangulation on the lower links. Might want to mount the links on the axle where you have the green spacer. |

Agreed ..... gonna swap that tonight while my body is getting painted. The last two frames Ive run had the links on the inside so its something Im use to. Gonna try them both ways though after seeing you guys out them on the outside. Got a comp this coming Saturday so she'll get a real good test then. |

Their normal C's with RCP steering blocks. I actually prefer a bit of positive Castor roughly 1-3 degrees, Ive always liked the aggressive feel in steering. Can put a little more load on the servo but haven't had any problems with any of it yet. |

Looks really good"thumbsup". The triangulation looks MUCH better. What weight oil are you using in the shocks? |

Thanks guys. I ran 50 F and 25 R today and definitely TOO LIGHT. It felt like they werent settling quick enough on the yard rocks for me so I went lighter. After todays comp ( the trucks virgin run ) it was definitely not working. The front felt good but with such a light weight in the rear I could feel the front just yanking the rear around. Im going back to 80f/60r tomorow for a test and tune. Other then that I was very pleased with its first run "thumbsup" |
