Is the battery fully charged? Reset the adjustments on the radio, then turn it on, and then turn on the truck.

Um, did he say the motor brushes need to be broken in or did he mean something else?

The stock RTR ESC doesn't have very fine slow speed finese. We found a better alternative that worked out great for people like us on a budget. We switched the wires on the ESC and motor, then we changed the Throttle throw on the radio from REV to FWD. We got way better slow speed crawl out of the stock radio and ESC. The only issue was now you got the double pump forward, but at least reverse was instant!

Give it a shot.

I'm not sure what it is but the Novak motors are bad about having the "click"......especially in reverse.

I'd say it has something to do with the way you have your antena routed and taped to the chassis.

I have to agree with the other fella. The reverse circuit seems to have more steps than the forward. Ironic isn't it? I havn't tried it(replaced esc with mamba)but it makes absolute sense! Reverse comes on like a kitten with the stock esc. Forward:not so much!

put capacitors on the motor, prolly interference. You'll wave that when the motor's frequency interfears with the trantmiter frequency, or maybe thats not the problem I'm just pissin in the wind tryin to help.

You got two wires coming out of your motor that is connected to your ESC.

motor wires
One black - this one is negative
One red - this one is positive

ESC wire going to motor
Blue - negative
Orange - positive

They're both connected to the same color wire on the ESC. Reverse it. Connect the black wire from the motor to the orange wire from the ESC. Connect the red wire from the motor to the blue wire from the ESC.

Now on your radio, you have a switch labeled Thr: REV NOR. I don't remember the default setting is at, but it's easy to figure out. Once you have the wires reversed, when you hit the throttle to go forward you're end up going reverse. So the fix is to change the switch labeled: Thr REV NOR to the other value. Now you're go forward when you pull the trigger again.

I think it also has to do with the cheaper radio that comes with the RTR. With the radio off try moving the "trigger" back and forth a couple of times every once and a while. This seemed to cure some of the problem I have had. I think the cheap pots on the throttle gets a little dirty and needs to be cleaned this way. Same thing happened on my Blade Cp heli until I switched over to my comp. radio. I thought of switching directions on the motor also, but it seems I do not have full throttle in reverse so I'm not sure I want to switch it. It's easy enough, I'll give it a try and go back if I don't like it.

Yah, you won't have as much wheel speed set up like this, but heck, it's free mod and gets you nice slow speed finese till you get a nice radio to use.

you dont want to go through all that wire switchin mess, just drop the center skid (with motor/tranny still attached) turn it around and put it back in.
