| Bent links on the front?
I have been looking around a bit and I have noticed that alot of people dont run bent lower links on the front, is there a reason for this?

IMO it makes the front axle a little more stable, infact I don't run bent links in the rear anymore for the same reason.

It's a matter of preference. I run bent links all around. Some people may argue that straight front links help slide off rocks while bent rear links help an approach angle. Test the setups and run what you like the most. |

I run them front and rear. Every truck is different on where and how the links connect and some setups bennefit more than others from the extra clearence. I say try them and decide for your self if it's a bennefit for your truck. |

Especially if the front axle is flexed out and the links go past the straight shot to the skidplate. | |

So then are you saying it would be better to have straight links on the front and the rear? I took them off the bent links on the front of both of my cras and it made them SEEM more stable?? please expand... |

I run straight fronts, but bent rears. Straight fronts slide better, but bent rears get out of the way on ledges. I don't see how a bent link wouldn't be any less stable than a straight link. All they do is connect two dots. |

i run bent front and rear. they say that straight links slide better?? try putting your rig at the edge of a table on the links and see if there is a difference in sliding with straight vs. bent. they both slide anyway gravity always wins. but thats just my 0.02 cents. it just depends on how each individual likes their rig to handle.

I run bent links on ft. and r. , with the front sometimes it seems like when you are out of ground clearance and you driveshafts are bottomed out on a rock that the spinning driveshaft slides you off the rock in the way of the rotation. Sometimes it gets you out of a spot but other times it can mess you up.

I'm running straight rods from Traxxas...front and rear. Like stated above....it's all preference and driving feel. I run straight so that my driveshafts don't get caught up as easy. |

I run bent all around. I started off with bent in the rear (ARTR AX10). After running with straight links in the front for a while and then switching to bent in the front, I like bent all around. It works for me.

I as well am still a newbie but from crawling with friends who have straight fronts, and mine with bent front links, I have to say I like the bents, I think it depends on terrain, however I feel with the straights, your front geometry isn't as prime as with the bent set up. Just personal opinion.

I have always ran straight, but now i like bent front and rear....not too sure about the stability part, only cause the rig is not extremely heavy, but than again it is preference. i can see how it may be stable but there are such vast diff in the crawlers. i run ax-10 chassis. good points of view though. |

I run bent links all around, I like the extra clearance when I am trying to make a sick break-over climb and get the front to "Make" Traction better with the extra clearance of the bents in fronts. And wait till you see my new delrine bent links. No binding at the shocks on my Semi Droop Revo Shock setup! Im loving them so far!!!

I run bent front and rear. Simply for clearance. But as said many times before, run what works for you. |
