Default Tires question

I have a question about tires. Ok here goes .... I have the stock beadlocks that come with the AX10 and it seems like my tires are holding air. I assume you want the tires to be a little on the flat side so they grip better. I was thinking of drilling some small holes in the tires but figured this might let in water, dirt and even make the tires weaker to where the tires could start tearing where the holes were drilled. I have already added lead weights to my tires and was wondering if there was anything else I can do to improve grip. Oh and I have the stock 2.2 tires. Thanks!

You need to drill two 1/8" holes in each rim. Do this in a place that is at least mildly protected from the elements and you should be fine.

If you dont want to drill holes (which i dont cause water always gets in them) the best way to improve grip is to get aftermarket tires. I have a set of pro-line hammers and flat irons that are m2 compound with stock memory foam and they flex very easily without holes in the rims. You could also loosen one ring and squeeze some of the air out and tighten the ring backup.

This is what I did on my wheels and it works great. Just took out one inner beadlock screw on each wheel, and air travels in and out when it should.

I need a little more weight though.

Are you using the stock 2.2 beadlocks? I tried to take out a screw and no air came in or out. I would like to avoid drilling into the rim.

I'm not using stock wheels or beadlocks. Sorry, I forgot to add that.

Just drill 3 holes in the rim that are around 4mm in diameter and add some more weight. A good amount is anywhere above 6 oz. ( 1 half oz strip) I personally run 12oz of strip weight in each front plus the weight of the rim, foam and tire.

Also definetely better tires. The Losis are alwaysa great choice and top contender.

One of the first things I did when I got my AX10 RTR was to cut about 2/3s of the foam out of each tire, drill a hole on the inside of each wheel, and add BBs. I didnt measure exactly how many OZs of BBs I put in each, but right now I am running about twice as much in the front as the rear. I just played with it until I reached a comfortable medium. I do not drive my AX10 through gnarly mud or water so I dont worry about the little hole allowing water or mud in.

I'm running 6oz front and 3oz rear. I have the hammer m3 compuond.
You can get the rock claws also-either is much better then stock.
-When I had the stock 27 turn motor and ran a 10 tooth pinion it was much better at crawling. Have you replace the servo yet?
