Hank's Betty/ Basher Comp Rig My friend Hank has been working on his AX10 alot recently. He was just not happy with the way it looked so he decided to go with a scale look. Specs Ax10 kit Momba Max 55 turn with 16t pinion 3 cell lipo Panthers on stock rims for now. Here is what he started with. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...RCtruck007.jpg The truck worked well but something was missing. We tried some little details but It was still not what Hank wanted. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...erRCpix014.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...berComp036.jpg |
On with the rebuild. Time for a new cab and bed. Hank got what he needed body wise from b4wheeler. Thanks John. You all have seen what a stock betty body looks like so I will not bother with those pix. Here it is in the mock up stage. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...RCScout006.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...RCScout001.jpg When he was satified with his work he took a well deserved break. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...RCScout005.jpg I will update Hanks progress as soon as possible. |
Hank barly let the paint dry before getting his new rig out on the trail. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...erBetty003.jpg He was having some trouble with the steering and decided to hop out and take a look. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...erBetty002.jpg I am suprised he gets any work done. Every time I turn around he is sitting on his @ss. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...erBetty001.jpg |

Eds Bronco is cool. I just don't see how he drives with the scissors. |
Hank got a delivery from the USPS today and he had to get right to work. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...rbetty2001.jpg In his haste to get started he forgot to put a jackstand under the truck. Let Hanks mistake be a lesson to you. Safety first.;-) http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...rbetty2002.jpg Hank was lucky to have not been hurt. After I gave him some help properly securing his rig he got back to work. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...rbetty2003.jpg |
I would like to thank whatever mod moved my thread with no thought as to what I had planned or even a pm to let me know."thumbsup" |
great looking rebuild"thumbsup" |

The body is looking great "thumbsup" I'm diggin that wood floor. Is the winch line painted on? |
Hank is trying to decide if he has 2 much weight in the bed. He would like to bring some firewood along for his next camping trip. It might be to much, just not sure. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...rbetty3001.jpg |
If hank's not to busy I might need some work on my rig. Let me know I will have to be here to keep an eye on my daughters barbies. |
Hank does not like his women folk that big. It makes him feel inadequate. :ror: |
Hank took his rig out for a litle muddin. No teck this week, still waiting on parts. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...oct3108011.jpg |
How'd you like those panthers in mud. Wish ill have my set by next 2 weeks. haha. |
They are not what I would consider a mud tire. ;-) |
And I thought I had it bad... |
hank needs to put the roids down |
Here is a little background on the CKRC dig unit that Hank has. The install was OK, sand this, wiggle that and with a little luck he got it working very well. That is for about 2 battery packs. He rounded off 2 different S.S outputs and wore out the slider. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...edupdig003.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...edupdig004.jpg After trying to get through to CKRC for at least a week he finally got to talk to Jack who ended up sending me some replacement parts. Yeah CKRC. There costummer servace is crazy slow but they did come through."thumbsup" I helped Hank get the new parts installed and set up. Instead of modifying the output like last time I got Chromoly outputs and modified the dig output to fit the trany output. The dig unit worked great last night. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...eercomp016.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...eercomp020.jpg |
Hank took the rig out for some good old fashion testing. I have not seen him this happy in quite a long time. (it had been at least a month since he had a working dig) All was great for the first minute and a half of the testing. Then the rear output stripped again. Hank and I are done with it. He will be getting a DNA very soon. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...updig-2001.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...updig-2002.jpg Hank is a little more than annoyed at this point. I think he might need anger management classes. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...updig-2003.jpg |
These cartoon builds crack me up! Too Funny. Nice rig |
