| Shock Fluid Level
After turning the stock shocks upside down, they lasted all but 1 day before blowing out. I am going to try the STRC shock bodies with axial caps, but I was wondering about how full to fill the shocks. I am going to try a 35wt first, do I fill the shock full? This is just a standard setup, nothing special exept super soft springs. Thanks, Mike P |

Fill them to the top with shaft ext. then tighten cap. Slowly compress shock and loosen cap letting oil excape till shaft is completly compressed inside shock body then tightin cap leaving no air pockets inside.

I do it like turner does just make shure when you are done that the shaft will stay at full compression or there is to much in it or air if it creeps back to extended.

If you fill the shock with the shaft extended, screw the cap on, compress the shaft and it will push back out. If you fill the shock and compress it first then screw the cap on, pull the shaft out and it will suck back in, and you'll have a little less oil in the shock. Which is better? I fill mine, with the shaft extended, untill it overflows then put the cap on. There is a little airspace inside the cap, enough to accomodate the volume of oil displaced by the shaft. Seems to work fine, they still compress fully without hydraulic lock. |
