Default New Chaotic Crawlers chassis build!

I have built multiple rigs with a couple different chassis, and when my teammate decided to start his own company and asked me to help him produce a chassis that would out perform everything we had tried, I was all for it!

introducing the Chaotic Crawlers EL NINO 2.2 comp chassis!
this particular one was the first prototype and it's actually cut out of .071 grade 5 Titanium!
the skid is made from 1/4" umhw andis slick as snot! it just simply will not hang up on any rock I through at it!

after two months of testing, we have changed just a couple small things on the chassis that will take affect on the production chassis's!
you will see the production chassis in the vendors section any day now!

onto my build!

I used axial axles
axial trans
dna dig
started with a 35t warrior and just upgraded to a HH 35t torquemaster!
traxxas driveshafts
JR DS8711 steering servo
rcp knuckles and c's
Mayhem wheels
HB rover tires
102mm revo links in the rear and lst2 93mm turnbuckles in front
and jato 53mm upper links.
TCS 4 link plates
Losi shocks.

this is a 60/40 setup with droop front with internal springs and 60 weight oil in front and sprung in rear with losi red springs!

after two months of testing, I would have to say this is definately the best and most capable chassis I have run to date!
I am very happy with the way it performs and it's extremely predictable!
and I am not just saying this because I helped with the design of it!
if I didn't like it I would have told him to start over!

it only took me about a week to get it exactly where I wanted it.

at the moment I am working on a good winter foam setup with the new tires and getting the weight dialed in.

here are a couple pics of the build and of my most recent crawling trip!
if you have any questions or comments please share!
we are interested in everyones opinions!

and thanks for looking!

That's a good looking piece of engineering. What's the notch in the skid for?

the notch is to cut some weight off the chassis and also a different approach to a channeled skid like the SWX!

Yea Losi 4" limited 3/4 of an inch and we both drooped the front of ours. With you berg build you could run 4" and have about 2-3/4" clearance and the thing woud scream Wrighttt and I both run just barely over 2" of GC so we are slammed pretty low right now.

Sick design and cool servo protection....how much does it cost to make a pair of that titanium sideplates?...and what purpose is that rectangle cut on the bottom of the skidplate?...

Default suggestion

may i suggest?

instead of those rectangular holes at the chassis they should be shock holes for more shock locations.. thats just my IMO

but overall great chassis starting from the titanium nice

I believe that chaotic crawlers may be possibly looking into selling those servo protectors, I know they are a huge hit with the local guys!

thanks for the compliments.
I am really loving this chassis so far and can't wait to build up the new Chaotic Crawlers mini nino chassis for my MRC!
