| 70/30 Throttle/Reverse
OKay i have an ARTR i put together, with the roosetr and a 55t, just wondering if these are supposed to have a 70/30 for thrt/reverse. Or is it my sweet (not very agressive) hitec am aggressor 2channel radio? Can i change it?

If you mean % of throttle you should run evenly both ways. I would run 100/100 so that you get 100% of the motors power.

I think he means the ratio of throttle/brake set on the TX itself like the old traxxas TQ3 transmitter. id stick with what works but as a rule id go 50/50. I cant see any reason to go 70/30

the 70/30 is acually for nitro vehicles and racing, in wich the is no reverse. It allows more throttle control and a quick burst for breaking. But over all vehicle set up is still vital. I would suggest the 50/50 trigger selection for a crawler.

I use a traxxas tq3 for my crawler at the 50/50 setting to get the same amount of throttle in reverse as in forward but on my revo I use the 70/30 setting because 50/50 doesnt open the carb fully on the aftermarket engine [tm 523] I dont race but I do use reverse. if your transmitter can do it go 50/50 if it cant make the most of what youve got and enjoy

I run my TQ3 70/30, I've noticed that I have a little bit mote control of how much forward throttle I'm giving it. But, really it comes down to what ever works for you...

| I lied, your not the man. There is no way (that I see) to change the hitec TX from 70/30 to 50/50. If you know how you will be the man again, if not, i need a new TX of I will have to run 70/30. The trigger physically only goes 70/30. |

i use mt tq3 in the 70/30 for more control forward, majority of reverse is only a panic manuver and it still works fine. Plus the setup is alot easier for my friends kids to use and learn on

after reading the last few posts I think I might try the 70/30 split on my rig. more control over forward cant hurt and with the quility of the esc on my rtr every little bit helps

ok i hope i can clear this up heres your parts if im correct hi-tec am 2channel Tx/Rx rooster crawler ECS and a 55T motor(novak?) theres no adjustment to be done to the reciver the adjustment has to be done to your ECS for this go to your rooster crawler manual and read STEP4-one-touch programming turn your controller on(set the THR-TRIM to the top dot) then PRESS & HOLD the one-touch/set button(its a tiny black button) on the ECS with the throttle trigger at neutral and still pressing the set button turn ON the ECS continue to hold set button until LED turns red release set button as soon as this happens then pull throttle trigger to full power until LED turns solid green then push throttle trigger all the way forawrd until LED Blinks green release trigger to neutral LED will return to solid red indicating programming is complete this will set u up for 100% power both way thats bout best i can explain hope it helps i know i was confused at first EDIT after messin with my controller i think i misunderstood your question now i thought your were speaking power/speed wise but i am assuming you are talking physical movement of the trigger in which case 70/30 is normal mine is the same Last edited by mud-dog27; 11-23-2008 at 09:21 PM. | |
