I used a Brake Line Tube Cutter. Simple efficient and cheap to buy. Plus you get a pretty clean edge.

Mine

Now what would be really cool, is if we put together a Black Widow only comp somewhere in the country that there is a large concentration of these chassis. It would be like an IROC race where all the rigs are basically the same but set up makes all the difference.

Or even do regional BW Comps with a final somewhere cool.

Just a thought...

Grrr... Finally got to go to a great spot that I found. This is what the terrain looks like:

So anyway, I know that my main problem is the shocks, I plan on getting some Losis with my Christmas money, but man, I just can't see how you compete with low ground clearance. Sure, you can climb near vertical, but alot of good that is if you can't get over the lip at the top. I couldn't get over half the stuff I could with the stock chassis. To top it off, I broke a steering arm, but I did find a much better place on the way back to the car. After repairs I'll go back and get pics of it. Seriously thinking about switching back to stock though until I can get better shocks. Lord knows why they reccommend the Rustlers.

Whats wrong with some pictures

Im running 5000wt diff oil in all 4 shocks.....reacts nice and SLOW...

The next thing Im going to do is machine down the motor plate so its doesnt hang so far past the motor can....

I also found ball ends that fit into the duratrax evader shocks Perfect !!
I will probably flip the shocks soon too...

I tried my links like that at first but I couldn't get any flex. I had to move them in and shorten them.

Do you have any more pictures of your servo mount for the DIG? It looks really good! I just got a Black Widow and a DNA and am interested in using a full size servo.

How is the back part of your servo plate mounted to the chassis?

Thanks!

I have been researching these black widow chassis and was wondering if you can run a stock ax10 tranny plate with these chassis? I am asking cause i just purchased a R2D tranny and a delrin skid plate and dont exactly want to buy a Black Widow and not be able to use the skid plate. I also read that you cant use stock axial links because they make the wheelbase too long. What length lower links to you have to use to maintain a 12.5 wheelbase? Thanks

The Black Widow comes with lower Delrin links that will give you a 12.5" WB when set up properly.
You could always order the Black Widow with a blank skid plate and drill the holes for your R2D I ordered my 2nd one with the blank skid since I switched to MOA's.

No you cannot use the axial skid :-( The lower links come with the chassis You could put the r2 in there I think you would just have to drill new holes in the skid and it would hang out both sides some
