Here is a question for you other BW guys...

The Widow is a short travel chassis by design. I want just a little more axle travel without any more belly height.

How can I lengthen shocks and increase the travel, without raising the whole truck?

I'm running limited Maxx shocks and my belly height is 3".

Let the ideas flow

What Inline said. I have a very simuliar set up and it rides low with plenty of movement when needed.

Good ideas, but I much prefer sprung trucks. The terrain around here doesn't suit set ups that have bellies lower than about 3".

I like the shock extension idea though. I could get the full TMaxx travel and no extra height. Thanks for the suggestion !!

And 90 degrees of articulation is about 30 too much for me

Any other thoughts?

i agree 90 is WAY to much lol i run around 65. i had mine setup up full droop and had belly clearence of 3 1/4 when i had the shocks setup in a certain fashion but now i am at full droop with internal springs and right at 2 1/2 belly . it works great for my driving but sometimes i do think about the sprung setup i used to have. its just running droop gives you the absolute best clearence for those vertical climbs.

i am pretty sure you can get up to an 1/2 of clearence with just the shock extensions.

Hey guys, just scored a DX6 for a great price and next I will be getting a HR Dig. I wanted to see if any of you have this dig on your Black Widows and how you placed your 2nd servo. Thanks for any help!

3rd Servo? Where is your second? Are you running a front and rear dig?

OK... Belly height stuff again.

I took the spacers out of my maxx shocks for better articulation. I also changed some things so I could use all my shock mounting holes. So with the maxx shocks laid all the way back in the inner most shock holes, and with Rover tires, the belly height was over 3.25 inches tall. (way too tall)

The flex was increased a lot, but it really wanted to roll over sideways and backwards much easier. So I put the spacers back in the shocks, and with them still laid back in the inner most position, the belly is 2.75 with the Rovers.

Just some numbers for you guys fiddling with set ups.

For all you BW drivers with 4 link rears... are you running your upper links above or below the rear axle plate?

Glancing through the thread it looks like most are on top. I never thought about it until recently. I'm trying to rid myself of the last little bit of twist.

Mine are staggered. Drivers side is on top and the right side is on the bottom. I don't have a problem with torque twist.

So what does that do. Does it give you more antisquat on one side? Why is the driver side on top? If the truck is level like in climbing a steep grade, wouldn't that weight the driver front more? ... or does the transfer go across to the opposite corner?
