Axial SWX Team Build

Well after a long and successful run with my last comp rig I figured it was time to switch things up again. What better way to do it then to go back to the Bender SW series of chassis that I won my first comp with over 2 years ago with the SW2.

I skipped the SW3 as I was experimenting with quite a few other setups but I cannot wait to get back on board with Axial's latest, the SWX.

As part of Team RCC, and now Axial, I hope to provide a build thread that will hopefully add some tech and tips that others will find useful. "thumbsup"

Much like Benders thread I will do my best to post up all my different setups that I try and what I find to work best.

So lets get started:

Its amazing how far crawling has come, you realize it when you look at the packaging on the SWX "thumbsup"

Made sure to pick up the Axial aluminum knuckles, C's, and straight axles for the axles. The machining and fit/finish is perfect on these parts. I own a few others that are nice, but nowhere near the quality of Axials products. The price is 100% worth it. Also running the Axial Universal Joints to make the most out of the steering the new knuckles allow for.

Starting out in the right direction I made sure to build the tranny with all the parts I knew I was going to need. Axial slipper clutch, and CDW outputs.

Here is a picture of the Chassis assembled and the axles resting on FubarCrawlers stands.

Should have a roller real soon!

Working on it "thumbsup" Last year I didn't think it was a "must have" but so many of the courses these days are designed with such tight turns and close obstacles. Plus I had it on my last rig so I got spoiled.

Thanks Josh.
I will probably hold off on modifying too much until the axial plate is available. Still have a lot to work out with the steering though.

Thanks Norm! Really looking forward to going back to a shafty, I missed my tlt blackjack. That rig just seemed so much more predictable, I hope to get that back with this rig.
